I lived here for over 3 years and recently was forced to move out because of the renovations. I was given the option of transferring to another unit in the complex that has already been renovated (with a hefty increase in rent) or extending my lease for 1-6 months while I find another place but my lease would not be renewed past then.
My main complaint is that I was given only 2 months notice. Obviously the apartment complex knew about the remodeling project (I found out about it from a friend who had to move out earlier), so why couldn't they have given us more time to find a new place rather than just the 60 days that the lease specifies. Oh, and since you have to give 60 days notice to move out (this was not waived), you had to either find a place real quick or extend your lease for a month or two. Not cool.
Oh, and when I moved out, everybody was nice but kept asking me why I chose to leave. I guess they never figured that since I would have to move out of my apartment, disconnect/reconnect utilities, forward my mail, etc. that I would not bother pricing other apartments in the area. Then when I explained to them that Wildwood Ridge did not renew my lease they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. While Wildwood is a nice complex, I thought the rent was increased too high to justify staying there, especially with the hassle of moving to another unit.
In the years I lived there I never really had a problem. My biggest issue was with the access gates that were always broken. It seems like they would get fixed then immediately break again. Sometimes they went months without getting repaired. Annoying, although I realize this is a problem at about every complex out there.
Maintenance was usually prompt, but occasionally something would get lost in the shuffle and it might take a few days. I will say that I saw a marked improvement when Worthing took over in this regard.
The apartment was quiet, good soundproofing, and the neighbors were usually respectful. Parking was fine, sometimes you couldn't get a spot right outside your door but you didn't have to go too far.
In short, I would probably still live here if I had the option to stay. If you can afford what they're charging for rent now it's not a bad place to live.
