First of all, I want to say the first two reviews really should not count because of the new management that has taken over since then. They clearly are gods in comparison.

That said, we moved to Augusta for 6 months while my boyfriend was taking classes at Fort Gordon. They were extremely flexible with our desire for a 6 month lease term (and when we needed to extend the lease by 2 weeks). The staff is great, any maintenance issues were addressed promptly (even if we said it was not urgent) and the people there were very nice. We always had a place to park, the landscaping was always kept up to date and I never really felt unsafe.

I also liked the acceptability for pets. It wasn't ridiculously expensive like most places and there are no restrictions.

The down side was that the windows and doors are drafty in the winter, but it's to be expected from such an old building. We bought plastic window seal kits at Wal-Mart and had no problems after that. Also, there are bugs. It is really bad. If you are phobic, this isn't the place for you. However, it is an issue they know about and are really trying to take control of. They spray almost every 2 weeks, and they will do your apartment more if you request them to. The pest control guy is ridiculously friendly, and very well educated about his job. He will answer any and all questions or concerns and go out of his way to help you out. I wish I knew the name of the company he worked for so I could list it here. He was definitely the best pest guy I have ever had at an apartment community (and being military we have moved a lot).

As always, I suggest you talk to the property manager and take a tour of the community yourself, before going anywhere based simply on a review.
