The bad news. The units are older and the complex is adjacent to the Interstate 20/Belair Road interchange, which can be quite noisy some evenings. Upstairs units would be preferable, but the wooden steps and landings can be rough when there are heavy rains or during the occasional winter ice storm. Taking refuse to the community dumpster can be quite a walk.

The good news. A very quick drive to Fort Gordon and to other points in Columbia County (much nicer and less congested than Augusta/Richmond County). Rent is very reasonable and there are laundry, car care and pool facilities. Most importantly, the management (Pam is the new manager) and maintenance staffs are fantastic. They are polite, friendly and attentive to the tenants and, for me, that alone cancelled out any complaints.

The bottom line: Pay your rent on time, take care of your place and be a good neighbor and your stay at Ridge Crossing will be a pleasant one. Lastly, we moved out before our lease expired but, since it was the result of military orders, our last months rent was pro-rated. If you are a responsible and courteous tenant, the apartment staff will treat you in kind tenfold. If you are a jerk, you will never be happy in any apartment/townhome/condo complex and that's YOUR problem.
