These apartments are not what they are made out to be......

Where should I start:

1. The day I was to move in, I had taken off from work, hired my people to help me move, when I get calls from the staff that my apartment wasn't ready as they had planned and that they were going to have to make me wait another few days before I could move in. After I mentioned this was unacceptable, they hurriedly put an apartment together that had not been cleaned well, the carpets are awful with cigarette burns and stains (I had to buy rugs to cover the spots because they took up my entire living room) and the apartment was nothing like the apartment they originally showed me.

2. When my family went to leave, we noticed my door did not lock. I called and the work crew came after hours to fix my problem. By the time they got here I also found my stove didn't work, nor my dishwasher. The answers to these problems were:
* Taking off the face plate on my door and swearing that nobody could get in with a screw driver since these were steel doors.
* The stove just needed to be cleaned out, so I should leave the gas turned on for about a minute so that the lighter would catch,
* And the dishwasher problem was in June, and by October I was promised a new one, and now here it is January and I am still waiting for one.

3. Over the weekend when I had to wait for them to "fix" my doorlock, I managed to have someone get in that "steel" door and take several things from my apartment, including my car keys and my Mustang. After that, there hasn't been a night that has went by that I haven't checked the doors to make sure they look the same way they did when I left, I check the glass doors to make sure that they have not been touched, and I make sure the windows are shut and locked. For weeks I couldn't sleep at night, since that seems to be the time that the perp broke in..."while I was sleeping at night." Their response was: We don't have security around here, you do all of that on your own risk. So don't think about trying to sue us...If they would have fixed my door in the first place I wouldn't have been having to look for a new vehicle and worry again about car payments...the one thing I had taken care of.

4. My toilets have overflowed several times, and the many times that they paint each apartment helped to seal the water cut off valve so that there was no way I could turn it off. I called the office imeediately as the water seeped down my hall, into the living room, through the dining area, and called the main office. The response that I got was that it was a weekend, and there wouldn't be anyway that I could get anyone in to clean it up until Monday. I had to go and stay at someone elses house after a neighbor came and helped me bam on the water valve until we could get it cut off.

5. Hardly ever do I get a parking place even near my apartment complex. I'm usually three buildings away from mine, and when it's an afternoon of grocery shopping, having to make several trips back and forth to someone else's complex can be really aggrivating.

6. Noise in these apartments is awful. If you live downstairs, you hear every single movement that the person above you makes, and if you have someone who plays their radio habitually too loud, forget calling the main office. Their response and ability to fix the problem is to simply call the Police Department or knock on your neighbor's door yourself. I don't know about the rest of the people, but in the rest of this world, especially when I'm somewhere new that someone has already broken into my apartment, I'm not really willing to go up to a stranger playing their radio at all hours of the night, knocking on their door, and asking them to turn it down a little. I do want to live...
