Can't wait to move
From: red2go1Date posted: 9/10/2007
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
When I first moved here, it was the best bang for the buck. It was clean and quiet, and work requests were completed immediately. My biggest complaint was the fact that we must be on an ant bed, and I have to keep everything in ziploc bags.
However, I should have followed my instincts and moved when the place was changed to a tax credit property, but I liked the low rent and location. Even though I didn't really qualify to stay once the apartment was switched over, they told me what to do make it work.
They were bragging about the great renovations that were about to happen, but that turned out to be a HOT MESS!!! I'm embarassed to have people over. I complained about the terrible job that was done on the "renovations," including damage to my personal property, and was told that something would be done. Not surprisingly, that never happened.
They painted my building with sprayers, and didn't think to cover our cars or alert us to park somewhere else. Paint got on everyone's car. I was told to bring in a quote for detailing, and I would be given the money. When I brought it in, I was told it was too high, so I would have to bring in three quotes. By the time I got the money (after I complained about the time, gas, and energy that would be spent trying to get three quotes), the paint had eaten through my car's paint.
I have to request repairs several times, and I'm still waiting for a repair to be done after asking about it several times dating back six months. The locks were changed on the apartments, and when I went to get my keys, an employee who didn't even know me just asked what apartment and gave me the keys without asking me for ID. She had no idea whether I really lived there or not.
Sometimes the light outside my apartment works, and sometimes it doesn't. People are always hanging around outside just standing, drinking, playing loud music, or running into my car. I'm awakened in the middle of the night by people arguing and singing right outside my door. I had a note put on my door saying I had created a disturbance and would be terminated if it happened again. I asked about it and was told it was a mistake and that it must have been meant for a nearby apartment. I was ticked off over the fact that the incident wasn't researched, but it was assumed it was me because someone's guests were hanging around outside my apartment, even though there are several other apartments from which the guilty parties could have come. Then the staff member had the audacity to ask me to deliver the note to the correct apartment. The staff members are unprofessional and unknowledgeable.
Several of my neighbors were fortunate to have leases end before mine and have already moved, and I can't wait to be out as well.
