High Grove isn't what it used to be

I recently moved to High Grove. I was told that before I moved in that the manager's name was Nicole and that she made sure that everything was clean and safe which is what helped me in making the decision to move here. However shortly before I moved in someone by the name of Stephanie took over the property. Everyone that was here before is complaining about some of the people she has allowed to move in. If you need anything fixed in your apartment you might as well do it yourself. Everyone is complaining that it takes weeks to get her to have the maintenance guy do repairs, that is if he even shows up at all. The community has a game room. Since some of the people have moved in that she has allowed here there is constantly trash on the floor and the bathroom is filthy. It appears that someone doesn't know they are suppose to use the bathroom in the toilet not on the floor. I am considering finding out what I need to do to end the lease which is what alot of people are discussing doing. It really is ashamed because the people that are looking to get out are all nice people and I have enjoyed being neighbors with them.

Dear anonymous and everyone else,
It seems to me there is some clarification in order! I assume by your statements that you have not lived at Highgrove very long- 2 months probably. Nor have you given the new manager a chance. It is not fair to post such comments on a public forum when you yourself do not know what you are talking about. Take it from someone who lived here before the manager change, Nicole was not that great. There is always risks letting new people move into apartments;you never know who they are inside. Highgrove Apts. knows that and each applicant has to undergo a background check and character references are examined.I was skeptical at first about a manager change, but now that I have actually given her a chance and gotten to know her- she is great!
Anonymous- if the so called 'problems' that you are having with the apartment and issues are causing you to look into terminating your lease, then by all means, do those of us a favor that live here and like it here...and leave. I cannot understand how you can say that "everyone" here is complaining about the same issues as you...and "everyone" is talking about breaking their leases and moving. I know several people that have lived here for years and love it. Others who just moved here and love it.
For those of you out there who are looking for an apartment that is safe, local to school, and a friendly environment, give Highgrove a call and talk to Stephanie, the manager. If anyone out there has an opinion about her, I think the grown-up thing to do it either take up with her if you really have a problem, or just keep it to your self and quit acting like a child and spreading rumors that you obviously know nothing about.
Thanks!

I think it is funny that both of you jump her accusing her of spreading things untrue....yet both of you have both done the same things against Nicole....yet neither of you have called Nicole to tell her your problems with her...LOL....giving advice you cant take, huh?

Sounds to me like the first "response" is someone who works at High Grove. Nicole was nosy, Nicole could be pushy, but Nicole DID keep out the riffraff. High Grove has recently begun accepting Section 8, and when that happens it doesn't matter who the apartment manager is, the apartments WILL go downhill. I think that Stephanie is an extremely nice person and addresses concerns, but Nicole would personally throw out people who didn't need to be there. I somehow can't see Stephanie doing that.
It isn't that Stephanie doesn't screen tenants the way Nicole did. It's that in this economy apartments are not generating revenue and must turn to other avenues to get it. Nicole tried to hold out as long as she could on the Secion 8 (I know, I talked to her about it) because she knew what would happen--the very thing that always happens. No matter how well you screen, when you allow your complex to accept low income housing vouchers you get your share of deadbeats and drug addicts. That's just life. Many apartments are dealing with this problem. It isn't just High Grove. The only way to escape this is to either move into an expensive gated apartment community or buy a house.
