I have lived here since Sept. 2006 and I must say it is better than the apartments we lived in in Houston, TX. They are new (about 2 years old I think) and for the most part quiet. Yes there are children and occasionally you get someone who plays their music loud after hours but no crimes have been committed that I know of. They have a fitness center (that is only open during business hours and you have to go through the office, although they told us that they will make it 24 hours and have access from the outside) and an after school program called LITE so if you have kids from 5-12 (I think) you can sign them up. Unfortunately the streets are narrow so you have to do what the sign says: 5 mph speed limit. If you don't someone else flying around the corner might not see you until it is too late. Maintenance is cool, they could use improvement, they could come quicker and fix somethings that we are not required to fix or cannot. (our smoke detectors go off everytime we open our windows or open our balcony door especially if it is windy, they say it is because of the pollen and it is suppose to do that. I have never heard or experience that before in my life!) But if you make a good amount of money (not poor but not rich either) and you don't want to pay house note rent, then this is probably the place for you. Oh they have pretty decent specials too. One more thing, they do not have lighting in the bedrooms, they have a spot where the light would normally go (they called it European style, whatever) so you have to provide your own lighting. Oh yeah another gripe I have is that the heat/AC only blows real good in our living room and kitchen. Can't feel anything in the bathrooms and especially the bedrooms so in the winter these rooms are really cold. Maintenance claims they can't do anything about it.

I will be in the area the end of this month looking at apartments. I've looked at this one in particular because of the location and was shocked to find some of the reviews on this website. I appreciate the honesty in this review (3/19/07) from a current tenant. I too will be coming from another state and thought this would be a great place for me and my children. I guess seeing is believing so I'll make my decision when I get to check things out for myself but still the review was very helpful. I helped me look at all things NOT shown on the website!!

Yeah well if I had known things were going to change about this complex I wouldn't recommend this place to live. Especially if you have morals and integrity. We got new owners and staff (except one person remains) and everything has gone downhill. They let just anyone move in now, people play their music loud whenever they want and manager does nothing about it. The stairways are filthy, heck of moths and have pest problems in the summer. Maintenance is lazy, have an excuse for everything and people don't watch their children over here and they tear up the property (like the mini carwash we have here). There is suppose to be restrictions on pets but not enforced. In fact they have a lot of rules and restrictions that would make a loving parent feel safe but they don't enforce any of them except if you are late on the rent (like past 10 days) they will throw your behind out! We moved to this area because of my husband's job. Buford itself is really nice but this complex is not as nice as it was a year ago. Unless you are desperate for a place to live or you are one of those type of neighbors that I mentioned (we do have some friendly/nice ones though!) I wouldn't recommend you move here.
