I've only lived her for 2 months now, and I've already had a problem with the management. I was late with the rent because I had to out of town to take care of my nephews because my brother-in-law had a major heart attack. They actually did a emergency 7 bypass on Saturday. I got a letter stating that I needed to add an extra 100.00 to the rent. Nice late fee:( I explained my story to the heartless witches, and they both said that they would not be able to help us.They said that if they allowed us to be late that they would have to let everybody else be late, but does everyone have a family member have something like a heart attack happen to them, uh NO!!! Besides, the least thing I think about when I've got an emergency is paying my bills. I went to the office to talk to them and lets just say they got me really upset because it makes me ferious to see people be so rude and heartless. I have never been late before, and never plan on being late, but things do happen to people to keep them from doing what they need to do. I've lived in apts before and they gave until the 5th to pay rent, but Summer Park considers the 4th late.

Plus, they still have not fixed the things that I found wrong w/ the apartment. They said that the apartment ceiling was painted, and they weren't because you could see dust from the last renters. The cabinet over the sink looked like the cabinets melted, and now the apartment smells like stale cigarette smoke. Also, whoever cleans the apartment after the tenants should be fired the apartment looked like the people just moved out. I should have know not to move in, but I really needed a place to stay for a few months. So, when my house is done I'm out of here.

When I moved in our place was spotless. They pointed out the few flaws that existed (a small stain in the master BR carpet, a ding in the lenolium, etc). We didn't need to have anything fixed. As for being late- that's right! Late is late. The first thing I think about before I leave town (emergency or not) is my bills... I don't want to come back without electricity or a $100 late fee on my rent. If you called the electricity company and gave them a sob story, you think they'd cut your lights back on without paying the fees associated with it? No chance... You think your car financing company won't charge you a late fee if it's late?? No. And by the way, it's my understanding that they cannot waive the late fee because Lane is a big corporation... Do you think the corporate office doesn't watch for things like that? For all the corp office knows, they could just be letting buddies pay there rent whenever they want. BTW- if you are kind to the office staff they will bend over backwards for you. I actually feel bad for them... having to listen to the constant whining and complaining about petty crap from residents who are expecting things to feel like they're living in some luxurious condo or something. It's a mediocre apartment complex in Buford, Ga. for christs sake! Not some fancy high rise condo in midtown!!! Want perfection? Want peace and quiet? Want to avoid dog poop? Want to not have to deal with roaches? Want to park your beat up junker car wherever you want????? BUY A HOUSE!!! Otherwise, these are things you can expect when you live in ANY apartment complex. Summer Park is a great place to live, I've been here for almost 2 years and this will be where I live until I buy a house!

Oh, and another thing 'thisplacestinks19988'as far as being late to other companies, a lot of them do let you be late one time without charging you. Especially, if the person has never been late before. A lot of companies are more understanding to life situations. Apartment complexes are all out for the mighty dollar they wouldn't care if you died today as long as they get their money in their hands. Also, the staff should not be so rude. It's not like they are the ones losing money. Its not their worry if a person is late or not. But I have seen that a lot of apartments hire the money hungry heartless B****** in the world to manage the property. Maybe you 'thisplacestinks19988' should apply for a job working for them. You definetly come across to be one of those people:) Yes, they are mediocre apts., but they should keep them up by making them look nice. Its their responsibility for "christ sakes". It doesn't matter if they looked like Motel 6, they should have the apperance of the Hilton's, and talk to people with respect instead of talking to people with such hate and aggrevation in their tone.

It's called Fair Housing. If they didn't charge you a late fee they couldn't charge anyone else. That would be called discrimination. It's called mail, mail the check next time. It's sad what happened to your family but don't use it as an excuse...pay your rent on time and you wouldnt have that problem.
