My two years at Hickory Knoll Apartments was nothing but a nightmare. It got to be so dangerous and the only thing Evelyn (manager)would tell me was to buy a gun. I got tired of them letting people by with things they should have been evicted for right away. I moved out because I did not feel safe. People were pulling 12-inch knives on other tenants, neighbors were running around the breezeway with a gun in their hand on more than one occasion. If you complained to Evelyn you were also written up which was not right. She understood and was fine with me breaking my lease because of my reasons. Now I get a notice a year and a half later that I owe an outrageous amount of money. I plan on contacting the Cherokee Tribune and having them do a story on how horrible it was living there, and how so many of us were done. Several people broke their lease around the same time I did and were not sent notices like the one I got. I will fight this in every legal way possible. I wish you would contact the Cherokee Tribune about apt life in Canton! Something needs to be done! Either to prevent innocent people from moving into these drug-dealer-infested places or to put a stop from allowing them to move there in the first place!
