I've lived at Chateau for over a year now and I can honestly say that I was lured in by the large one-bedroom lofts with the amazing amount of space that they have. And I won't lie, the space is VERY nice to have.

However...

There's a huge problem with bugs here. We can't keep the bugs gone, and we're very cleanly people. We've managed to get some of the amount gone from when we first moved in (which was really really bad) but there's still a good amount of them.

Secondly, they don't clean very well before a new tenant moves in, at least from my experience. I mean, we've had some problems that we had when we moved in and they never bothered to come and fix them. An example of that was the spiral staircase that we were concerned about when we moved in finally had a stair literally break off the center post. It took them three days to come and fix it, which was kind of a problem since our bedroom was upstairs (and the bathroom too) - so we had to play a dangerous game of hopping the stairs while they got around to fixing it.

They don't trim the hedges regularly at all, even after months of asking for it - which wouldn't be so bad, if the hedges weren't all like jungles with prickers on there for snagging you as you go by. Personally, I just trimmed them back with mad scissor skills once to stop the snagging.

The people are okay here, and I haven't really felt unsafe since I've lived here, which is a big plus.

We're going to be moving soon and I have a feeling we're going to run into some problems with the management over some of the things that were problematic when we first moved in, though luckily for us we took pictures of all the damage.

So that's my advice. If you're looking for a lot of space, you really can't beat the 1 bedroom lofts for the price, but you probably will wind up having to replace some things because of the bugs before you move.
