I have been here about 4 months and this place is great! I have read the reviews from others, and all I can say is they must be at another property. Someone mentioned a problem with the trash, the only reason there is problem is because when people move in they are putting boxes in the trash compactor and it gets jammed(even though they are told at move in to break the boxes down before putting in the machine). Never fails after every move in some dummy piles boxes in there then when the tenants come to put there trash in it has to be placed on the ground outside the machine. Maintanence is very good at cleaning this up,and I can honestly say I have never seen it sit there for any less than a day, if it happens on the weekend or at night. Someone also mentioned a bug problem. Apparently they must be a dirty person, I had an ant problem about a month after move in, I informed the staff and they had someone out within a day. Then the lady that came made sure I knew she was there every Friday, and to not hesistate to call. And I have never seen as much as a gnat since. The only other problem I have had is that my air conditioner went out. Again, I called and reported it that morning on my way out of town, and by the time I got home that evening, the house was an icebox. And as far as a drug problem, I have never seen anything like that. I walk the property every evening, and it is always after dark, It is always well lit and I feel extremely safe. Lastly, the thing with the gate, I found out is a corporate problem. And just can not be resolved at the leasing office. Requests have been made, a plan is in the works. As I understand it, the reason it has not worked is because it was struck by lighting several times. It is very stormy in this area. Corporate is attempting to retify the problem, but this is definitely not a leasing office decision. They are simply the messengers. If people realize they are living in a community, and keep track of their own responsiblities, such as who they invite to the property, where their kids are, then there would not be any issues. Just like any other community if you care so much about the gate, send a letter to the corporate office, let them know your concerns...all the leasing office does is pass our rent checks to them anyway. Just as if you owned a home--if your street light is out and the city is dragging there feet you call your congressman or your mayor. One last thing if a person is concerned about drugs in there community--this is not the forum for it...let your neighbor know...let your police department know...contact your city official....I never knew there was a problem, but I would have appreciated a tenant informing me. Every community, unfortunately has a drug problem, regardless if you live in the million dollar homes or the ghetto...but if a person knows about it and does not bring it to the attention of others..how can a problem change. You have to be a part of the solution. Try forming a neighborhood watch, or a tenant meeting every month. The leasing office staff are tenants too, and there is only so much they are able to do.
