I moved out to Carrollton last September and into Magnolia Lake. I have to say: I like it a lot. My neighbors are quiet, everyone's private and polite. The grounds are pretty and well kept and well lit. They do have trash problems on Sundays when moving jerks don't break down the boxes, but management has it clean by 10AM the next day. The only problem I had was that my heater wouldn't blow hot air when I first turned it on. I called the office from work and they had it fixed by that evening. There are a lot of minorities and young couples. Frankly, I've never seen the drug problem and I live next door to a local sheriff's deputy. The apartment is nice and big and clean and better and newer than pretty much all the other apartments around town. Believe me, I looked at all of them. The only utilities I pay are cable and electricity, everything else is included. Nice amenities like a car wash, on-site and cheap laundry, nice pool, playground, etc. Carrollton is growing and you're only five or ten minutes from everything. There's new management and they seem to be on top of things (holding community meetings and events, immediately addressing the major concerns). The gates will close within two weeks, so we'll see how that goes. I actually like them open. I've never seen vagrants about.
