Renter Beware.

This is an honest review. I have been here for a year and WILL NOT be renewing my lease.
Problems I've had at the Grove:
-Unprofessional management who do not respond appropriately to urgent situations. It took them weeks to get my roommate, who was constantly drugged out, out of the apartment even after she made threats. The grove had physical evidence, but instead of being evicted, the girl was simply forced to move into another building.
-Maintenance reports take forever. We reported a problem in our bathroom in August. They ignored it until the ceiling started to leak due to a broken bath tub in the apartment above us. They did recently hire a new older maintenance man who seems to know a whole lot more than the college students they pay to play "Mr. Fix It."
-The area around the buildings are always a mess. Although there is a fine for littering and failure to pick up dog feces, it is not enforced. If you are planning on moving in and have a dog, I would not suggest it. There is no area that is "clean" that you can walk your dog in unless you go all the way to the quad.
-Parking is an issue. I work until late at night and when I come back all the spots close to the building are full. On average, only half of the cars parked there even have grove parking permits. They always threaten to tow cars that are parked without a sticker, but they never have.
-Don't expect to have your lights on AND run heat or air conditioning at the same time. Even though utilities are included, you will have an overage.
-When you move out the grove will try to stick you with any charge possible. They even make you hire a professional carpet cleaner and present them with a receipt. When I moved in my carpet smelled like pee and even though they sent a "professional," I had to clean my carpet myself to get the smell to go away.
-Noise is ALWAYS an issue. The walls are so thin that you can hear conversation, music, etc. from the apartments around you. The grove does nothing about noise complaints even though there is a fine for noise issues after midnight.
-The flier they pass out says there is on site security. This is not the case.
-You will get more letters from the grove on your door than from any other apartment. You are babied so much that it feels like you live in a dorm (minus the meal plan). In your contract you sign that they can enter your apartment at anytime legally.
These are just a few of the problems experienced during my twelve month stay at the grove. The grove does have SOME good things:
decent pre-furnished furniture, good cabinet space, washer and dryer, utility closet, appealing bedroom furniture (although the drawers on the dresser are not on a track and fall if loaded to heavy and the headboard on the bed is not attached), large walk in closets, and an on site pool
However, DO NOT get sucked in by their pretty fliers and amenities. It will not be worth it in the end. Look around. Try Bristol Lakes. It is a 5 bedroom townhouse for $350 a month. That includes a larger utility cap than the grove. Across the street at River place is also $350. There are much better options. DO NOT make the same mistake I did.

This sounds like a very bias point of view sounds like this person can't handle much without mummy or daddy. I have seen the grove staff in action and they handle me or my roomates professionally and in a timly manner. Again, you have to take into consideration the nature of the complainer ( sound spoiled if you ask me) like this person said "they baby you" I call that good customer service. True you can pay $350 at the competition, but you pay for what you get. I have friends that live across the street (river place) and they are always saying,"our apartment never do this kind of stuff." (that's how you use open quotations by the way)when they show up to mooch off the grove's give aways. I have lived here for 2 years and I am renewing my lease for my senior year. Naturally yes the early bird gets the worm. If i get back to my apartment after class, i am not going to park far away, so somebody after me can park closer. Stop complaining it's a parking lot, not all the spaces are close to the building I guess you don't have visitors, so you wouldn't understand the cars w/o parking decals. I enjoy the grove, I make the best of my community, and all the negative people they proably the ones giving it a bad name and messing it up. SEE The Grove for yourself. You be the judge...

Yes, everything this person said here is actually the truth, I lived at the grove for a yr and half and every word in here is true! The last comment above me sounds like a grove worker. Honestly, the grove is not worth it at all.
