I've lived in several places within a 5 miles radius of this place over the last 12 years or so. You defintely get what you pay for...for the most part. This is one of the best values for your money in the Chamblee, Dunwoody, Buckhead, Brookhaven area. Like a couple people stated on here, its been alot of criminal activity the last few months or so. I live in the same building as the lady that was tied up and robbed in March. I arrived home maybe a hour or so after it happened and it had to be 7 cop cars and 2 detective cars on the scene gathering clues. This place may not be the safest, but at least the police are responsive. On average, I see a cop here, every other day. Usually solo, which means no one is in any immediate danger. Depending on your perpective; that could be a good thing or a bad thing. I know of other incidents in other apartments complexes in the area, so I think its safe to say that the recent surge in violence has more to do with the economy than just the character of people that live here. However, a few bad seeds ALWAYS fall through the cracks, even with criminal background checks. I pay a little under $850 for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath and came from a place where I paid $1200 for a one bedroom for 2 1/2 years. They were very nice and felt safe, even had a courtesy officier roaming the grounds at night in his white truck with bright yellow flashing lights and we still had several incidents. Many in which, the leasing office tried to hide. I saw cops, state and federal agents there all the time. If you go to cheaper apartments, you get petty theft, more violence and intense drama. If you pay for a more expensive apartment complex, you get mid to high level drug dealers, illegal call girls, and expert white collar criminals. Take your pick, its dirt everywhere. All in all, I think these apartment are decent, especially for the money. Just be aware of your surroundings and be smart, like you would anywhere else.
*My advice to you if you really want to feel safe, your best bet is to move into a highrise.
