I see no major problems; nice place

I've only been here a week, but the rent is fair, the water and gas are included in a small sum in addition to the rent, and I have had no major problems. The staff is very polite and helpful, the maintenance guy came within 48 hours to fix my ice machine and one of my sockets, I have a fireplace, an atrium and a place in a parking deck for $724 a month. I had previously looked in many places before deciding to live here, and I'm very happy that I chose this place. I had even seen the ratings on this site previous to moving in, and have noticed very little of the same negative qualities as previously mentioned in other reviews. I have noticed substantial whiffs of pot smoke twice while I was here (once before I moved in- someone had smoked in the elevator and it was obviously not tobacco smoke), but my car hasn't been broken into yet, there are no shady figures, I feel like I'm constantly seeing staff everytime I go outside, and there is no noise issues (although I am on the third floor). They are doing construction soon, so the amenities will be arriving probably after this year, but I do have access to washers and driers in the building.
My only recommendation is to ask to see your apartment again before you lease, because I had been under the impression that I was moving into a specific apartment, when they switched me to another without telling me. I actually liked the new one better because it had a view of the vegetation, but the appliances were older. The staff has demonstrated no sneakiness otherwise, so I'm apt to believe that they are honest despite wanting to sell apartments.
Another bit of advice; do not let the exterior fool you. This place was built in 1988, so the exterior is not beautiful. I do like the courtyards above the parking garage, but there is obvious wear. They told me they will remodel the courtyards to add more plants and, if I am not mistaken, to redo the flooring. Also, they are painting to make the exteriors look less disgusting. But the insides of the apartments are comfortable, and the floorplan is good (despite, on the third floor, an odd sliding door between the bedroom and the atrium, which looks like they meant to put a balcony instead of more room).
Remember, the people that tend to come to sites like these to rate their stays are usually the people who have had problems, so it is almost safe to assume that if there are only two negative reviews in the past year, many other people must have been happy with there stay.
