Nice Size for the money, unless you have Bug-phobia

This location has a VERY nice sized apartment for the rent when comparing them to other locations. But if you have a fear of bugs- this is NOT the place for you. There were bugs I had NEVER seen before and it was seriously freaking me out to fall asleep sometimes! I had to reach in and turn the light on in the bathroom first before going in because those large flying brown demons would crawl in through the open spaces between the drywall and floorboards. Again- scared the crap out of me too many times. And someone previously mentioned the unknown million long legged "worms"...they are NOT kidding. I think they live in the pipes of the sinks and tub, and the roof. I am jittery just thinking about it.

They do have pest control if you request it- but I think they spray inviting scents for the bugs. We had better luck and saw less when they didn't spray.

And with the previous management company, when it was Summit Oakes, maintenance came when you called- but they were experts in quick and temporary fixes. Large water spots were forming on the walls from the upstair unit, and their solution was to clean it with bleach and then spray paint over it. Really. So of course, the cause was still there and ruining their building, tiles and etc. And have your vents cleaned before moving in- there will be green fuzz on them and blowing all into the air you will breath daily if you don't. I was there 2 years and never had the air filters changed, though I asked. One maintenance man did come and take one out, bang it against the wall to knock debris off-I am guessing, and then put it right back in. (So I did replace them myself.)

When moving in, I notated all the issues in the apartment- just to make sure they did not hold me liable for the present damage- and the office personnel literally said "You don't want us to fix this stuff do you'" I pointed to things I could live with- (bleached carpet can be covered, I didn't need handles on ALL of the cabinets/drawers, the washer/dryer closet door didn't HAVE to close all the way, and I didn't really NEED a clean and working dishwasher...) lol -She WAS nice, but that threw me completely off. lol (Too bad the lease was already signed.)

The model is NICE and is a good sell, but like someone said previously- make sure you see the apartment YOU will be living in before putting your pen to the paper.

Nice patios, plenty of closet space, ample parking, tennis court, a pool that is usually cleaned and open in season, a gym and a friendly staff are definitely perks of the complex. I was just so freaked out by the variety of "bug life" and the new management company chopping down all of the trees! lol

Overall- I would recommend the place- just not the bugs. (Unless you like to investigate and disect things or learn new insect life etc...)
