College Park's Best

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2009

I have been in this apartment since 2005 and have had no serious problems. I see a roach and silverfish occasionally but there is no infestation problem. The parking is fine, I like that you can park in front of your door. Parking is only an issue if someone is having a party and their guests park in your spot. I have a 2 bdr/2.5 bath and it is very spacious (about 1300 sq ft). My only complaints are:
1. In the summer kids are playing in the streets and are not well behaved. For example, this past summer the kids were cursing in front of adults, constantly splashing water on patrons outside of the pool and put trash and snapping turtles in the pool. Also, some adults (lack of a better word) were changing diapers by the pool and leaving the soiled diapers on the chairs and in the pool which clogged the pool and caused it to be closed for a few days.
2. Over the weekend the dumpster is ALWAYS overflowing with trash and there is trash on the surrounding area near it, yet management is always threatening with a fine. Alot of people put their trash on the trunks and hoods of their cars and go to the dumpster. Unfortunately, some people do not pick up after themselves (as stated in a previous posting)and continue to drive even though they have left a trail of trash throughout the complex leading up to the dumpster.
3. There needs to be lights not only on the outside of the unit, but in the front porch area by the door as well, the outside light does not completely illuminate the area by the front door which makes it a hiding spot for someone who is waiting for you to get home.
The apartments were built in 1985 so needless to say they are old but are well kept. I have seen worse. The staff is nice and always speak. I would recommend this apartment, there is shooting sometimes in the nearby communities however the drama level within this community is low. Unfortunately, I will be moving in September because the rent is increasing by $100 which is an amount I am not willing to pay and still remain in my budget.
