Not so nice....

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
My boyfriend lived at the lofts in 2007. One review I read said his wife had allergy problems living in the apartment. I though it was just me, but I'm glad to know I was wrong. Every time I came over I got sick. He did live in the low-income part of the apartments and they were pretty nasty. We would try to find a way to get to the pool from the inside since it was so hot outside and usually got lost in the buildings that weren't low-income and they seemed to be in much better condition. I don't recall ever seeing any animal mess in their halls. Dog feces and urine is not an exaggeration on the low-income side. Note that there are (or were when we were there) doggy bags to pick up your animal's mess. And there were always bags in there, with trash cans beside them. It's really not managements fault, but the lazy owners who have the resources they need to clean up after their animals and don't. I never dealt with management personally, but they did lose his rent check once. I loved being inside the loft besides the fact that I was always sick. He did have a few roaches every now and then but it wasn't anything we couldn't handle ourselves. We did run out of hot water quickly. We never paid for our cable either. The gym was nice when we stayed there and everything worked fine. The TVs were even still there. The pool was always open and pretty clean. One issue with the pool is that the door is magnetic and all you have to do is pull really hard and it will come open. The exit gate on the backside of the apartments was almost always open and I constantly saw people piggybacking behind cars to get in. The laundry room wasn't dirty but the washers and dryers were small and after about 3 cycles in the dryer we gave up and air-dryed our clothes. I was never solicited for drugs or money while we were there. People were loud walking down the halls and it was disturbing but we were never bothered by a fire alarm. He DID get evicted after losing his job, but thats not why I wrote the negative in this review. That was the best thing that could have happened because it got us out of the ghetto side. I liked the regular lofts and would recommend them to anyone. DON'T GO TO THE LOW-INCOME SIDE! It was nothing but a disappointment. Oh and the stairwells did smell funny. I was terrified to use the elevators because they are so old.
