This is not the place to live.

After reading the reveiews posted here, I felt confident that The Lakes were going to be a great place for myself and my family to live. What a huge disappointment it hasbeen to find that The Lakes apartments are going downhill. From signing the lease, until now, only 7 months later, we have had problem after problem. Work orders are either not completed, completed improperly, or completed weeks after the order has been placed. I have seen cops here on several occasions and know that two of my neighbors cars have brofken into. (I only have four immediate neighbors.) Not to mention that my gas cap was stolen from my car. The management has to be notified of problem several times before any action is taken and the maintenance people can be very rude. Everyday the maintenance crew parks their large trucks in the street, rather than in the many parking spaces available, blocking traffic and making fender benders happen quite often. The elementary school we are assigned to is terrible and I would not recommend it to anyone. Overall, the decision to live at The Lakes turned out to be a very bad one. I recommend living further out at Exit 8 or 10, it is worth the xtra drive from Fort Benning. Thankfully, we will be moving after living here only 14 months, but if we had the option, we would have moved out months ago, even if that meant living in sub-standard military housing!!!
