All I want is to find out what the good, the bad, and the ugly is when it comes to finding an apartment, but the tales that have accumulated on this site about apartments have only deterred me from learning anything. I don??t know what??s worse, the positive fake comments by the staff (which, you can tell, better luck fooling people next time.) or the negative which feels like they??ve been posted by another apartment complex in town (Whisper Woods was mentioned twice, yeah??. right) What the hell is wrong with you people' I just want the truth.

The truth take it from me dont live in the Lakes . I was living in the Lakes in 2000 and I soon moved out of the Lakes. Because my boyfriend `s car was broken into by the neighborhood teenagers living on the grounds having nothing to do with their time but get into trouble. The Property Manager is a big hit and miss meaning just pay your rent on time and dont complaint because nothing wont get done. We moved out of the Lakes and found a great location some where else which I wish not to mention because I dont wish to attract the wrong people where I`m currently staying. So the answer to your question quote: What the hell is wrong with you people? that you ask , well, in my opinion people have different experiences around town wheither good ones or bad ones living in these apartments so you have to really discern each review and hope that you pick out the right apartment for yourself.

Listen take it from me. I am ex military and have lived in this area for quite sometime. The LAKES DOES NOT have a problem with car break-ins COLUMBUS DOES. I have never even lived in the Lakes. I did go and see the apartments and based solely on appearance and the fact that the walls are sound proof i wanted to move in. I fell in love with the view. I can't say much about maintenance or management b/c i have never lived there. I did live in some apartments that i shall let remain anonymous on Buena Vista Rd. though and we had several car break-ins. My boyfriend even caught some one red handed flashing a light into his car one night. That is the night they were caught. A young black and white boy. But i'm sure they were not the only one's. My radio was even stolen in broad daylight once. It's not the apartments....It's the people. Some kids come from different neighborhoods and break in cars. you can't blame that on the staff or the complex. The most these communities can do is put up a gate and maybe a guard and even he can't be everywhere all the time. Don't you think the burglars know this. It's up to you to protect your own belongings. keep car insurance, get a car alarm. The factory alarms are no good. All they have to do is break the window and crawl through. If the door is not actually opened it won't go off. I learned that while living in NC. Get a radio with a detachable face so you can take it in with you. Also get renters insurance incase of theft or fire. A fire in 1 apartment can spread to the next. Imagine losing all you have b/c of some one elses mistake!! Also if you get an alarm. Don't be a dummy and give management the code. This is stupid. Management and maintenance are ppl too. They have integrity issues the same as anyone else. If u need something fixed make them give u a date and a time so u can make arrangements to be home or have some one at home. Last but not least change your locks. the last tenant ould have kept a copy. Don't expect other ppl to protect your assests or your life. Do it yourself!!

Most of the break ins are inside jobs.

I wouldn't trust taking a review from somebody who has never lived in the Lakes apartments; anyway I actually live here and the walls are not sound proof. I can hear my neighbors under me; beside me and across the breeze way from me. The Lakes is not a clean environment; if you don't mind come to the Lakes right now if you can; and I promise you; you will find paper and trash and empty soda cans and beer cans all around the Lakes. I just came inside my apartment after walking around the lake and I saw trash every were. As for car break ins. I have lived in other apartment communities before with security gates. As a matter of fact I have lived in three other apartment communities with security gates and not one time has my car ever been broken into but when I moved the the Lakes who has a security gate that is never working that's when my car was broken into. I have insurance but just because you have insurance doesn't give anybody the right to break into your personal property.
