A job transfer is considered breaking the lease so I had paid 2 months of rent despite not physically living there. They wouldn't cut me a break.

I was gone for a couple of weeks and the maintence turned my air conditioning on without my permission. My electricity bill doubled despite turning off all the switches on my breaker. I called and told the dumb leasing consultant, Trudy, and she denied it without even stepping foot in the apartment. I had to keep calling until I got to someone competent enough to understand the situation. They did admit the A/C was running while I was gone but wouldn't compensate me for my high bill.
