My son moved here with 2 of his friends and the neighbor across the hall who of course was on gov. assistance because 90% of the people that live at merchants court are. Watched out her peep hole day and night at these young men and judged them because they were all around 19 and 20 yrs young and all worked late shifts together and got in late at night. She watched all thier comings and goings and would call the management every night. These boys cant help thier work and school schedules. They were not partiers and were not loud but every week they would get a complaint notice on thier door because of nosy neighbors that just didnt want young renters around. Dont judge a book by its cover. My son and one of the other boys are going to school to be doctors! Hence the late odd hours.
They will lie and tell you there is an on site maintanence man but there is not. he lives all the way out in douglasville and refuses to come out unless its an emergancy because afterall this is mostly low income housing. The first time they turned on the heat in the apt it filled with smoke so they turned it off and called 911.. The fire dept came out and said the furnace needed to be cleaned out badly and looked like it hadnt been cleaned in years there was so much dust built up. It was burning off the built up dust. They said not to turn it back on till maintenance came out. So they called maintenance and the guy refused to come out, said it could wait. He never came out. So they could never use the heat. They called the office several times and still no maintenance guy. Oh Maybe it was because Merchancts Court was upset because that call to the fire dept cost them a hefty fine because the fire extinguishers in my sons apt were 4yrs past thier exp.date.
I WOULD NEVER LIVE HERE or RECOMMEND THIS APT COMPLEX TO ANYONE!. This is why they have luxury apt complexes. You truly get what you pay for! My son and his roommates were trying to save themselves some money because they are all in college. Well Its not worth it to live with trash! they now live in a luxury apt complex and its worth every penny!
