small but reasonable

I've been living here for almost a year now, and it's been pretty nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, and maintenance has been very good and responsive. My neighbors have all been great people too. The neighborhood is nice, and it's a quick walk to downtown Decatur, and 2 MARTA stations.
The apartments themselves are pretty basic and there's not too much closet space. If you live downstairs you may hear foot traffic and conversations from above, but this is true of many apartments that cost a lot more. Many units don't have walls against other units, which helps keep the noise down. Water is included in the rent, but you pay gas for hot water, cooking and heat. Units have central AC, and a ceiling fan in the kitchen and one bedroom, but as with most apartments you pay for the electricity. I've had no serious complaints about heating/cooling, but the place is not very well-insulated, and it is especially drafty around windows in wintertime. Some units have washer/dryer hookups, but it really cuts down on the already limited kitchen space if you choose to use them. Only one community laundry room for the complex, so it may be bit of a trek from some units. For the price and location though, its hard to complain about Adair Oaks.
