For you benefit, I'd like to start off by saying I have spent a lot of time at this apartment complex over the past few years. I am friends with more than several current and former residents, and so, have first hand knowledge of the apartments and the staff.
First let's start off with the building themselves. They are old, decrepit, in disrepair, and falling down around the residents. There is chipped and cracked paint, cracks and spots on walls and ceilings, and signs of leaking through the roof. There is also poor insulation, matched with inefficient heating and a/c, causing soaring electric bills during most of the year. Faucets are leaky and toilets run wasting precious amounts of water. There have been complaints and reports of black mold growing currently.
Next is the apartment management team, including the maintenance staff. They are completely incompetent at their job. It is incredulous to believe they are still somehow in business. If you make a complaint, be sure it will be held against you by the spiteful management. And if you happen to put in a request for a repair, good luck getting anything fixed in the near future.
