I use to work in the leasing office as a leasing consultant for 9 months back in 2002. Back then it use to be called Eagles Nest. The nick name back then was The Crows Nest . I can tell you first hand that this is a place you don t want to live. I remember getting the craziest phone calls for work orders. The pluming is horrible. We had a tenant who had a rain fall of urine in his bathroom when his neighbors on the first floor would flush the toilet. A lot of folks had issues with mold also. This one tenant who called in a work order and said he had a mold stem growing in his bathroom.

There was this Dominican Shorty that lived in the apartments that I started dating after I left the company. I waited until I found another job before I really got at her. I remember I was over her house late one night and I can only describe the sound to a horror film, Night of The Living Dead . There were gun shots and all. There was just too much activity going on for me.

We knew what the concerns were and presented a nice proposal to the corporate office (Concord Management) about the budget we needed to really fix things and make it a safe community. The corporate folks were not interested at all in putting any money into Candler Crossing. The company never paid me for all the people I moved in. I m not bitter because I felt bad at night when I would go home because I knew the folks I moved in were not safe. There were a lot of single parent mothers there.

All of Concord properties throughout Atlanta are very beautiful properties with the exception of Candler Crossing. Candler Crossing is the only property they have that s in a predominantly Black area. I feel that s why they rejected our proposal back in 2002. If it Candler Crossing was not in the Black community they would be more then happy to invest money in that property. I only met one of the GM s from Concord and he appeared to be least concerned about the awful conditions of most of the units and had zero compassion. Concord does not care about the Black community in Decatur, sad but very true. Candler Crossing should be condemned. No one should have to live in those conditions.

This is so true. I live there, but I never had to sign a lease. A friend of mine let me stay in the apartment because im in a transitional period. This is a horrible place to live.
