Last week, someone was murdered in this complex. The day before the murder, my car was broken into. When I came home, there were 5 or 6 young men hanging out in front of my building talking so loud it sounded like a fight was about to break out. They had no respect for the tenants who lived there. That same night, someone broke in my car. They didn't get much, but it's just the principal. What a shock that the very next day a young man would be killed in the complex. The next day they put a notice in the door saying "You may be aware that there was a homicide in the complex, please be helpful to Dekalb county investigators"..Apparently this was not the first or second or third at the complex in recent months.
The hallways are nasty. The leasing office conveniently leaves these stupid notices in your door all the time, acting like they are high-class apartments. They charge you $60 per item if they find any of your trash anywhere,even if it falls mistakenly.. but the trash compactor is always full and doesn't work. This makes no sense because there is always trash around..There is a gate and some very high speed bumps in the front that doesn't work. If you go down to the basement apartments it looks like a jail cell. The walls are nasty, dirty and full of bugs and other items. The paint is missing everywhere inside. There is mildew and wood rot everywhere.
Some nice new crackheads have moved in to my building and setup some type of shanty town in the hallway. Last week I was leaving for work in the morning, and some crackhead lady was in the hallway with a stroller that had been out there for days. She was going through the items in the stroller like they were hers, but the stroller had been in the hall for about a week.
Some people moved out and they left trash all in the stairway, and left furniture out in the halls. People beat on the doors all times of the night.
This morning, on my way to work I was greeted by the Dekalb County Police who were coming to the aid of a domestic violance victim in my building.
Coming down the street to the apartments, there is trash on both sides of the road, people walking all times of the day and night, mostly crackheads. People fighting, people being robbed, shopping carts from the local Krogers. The staff is very unfriendly but I understand why.
These apartments are paid for, meaning that the builder has been paid years ago and the mortgage has been paid for years ago. All the money that they are collecting off of the tenants now is just profit. Imagine, if they get at least 500 bucks a month from 200 people, 12 months a year every year what kind of profit they are making off of us. They obviously don't care about us and why should they...in their eyes, they've made their money and did their job by filling these nasty azz apartments. Everything now is just getting extra money. At first I heard that they use to be nice apartments, but of course they were back then because they were still trying to pay the mortgage. Now that the mortgage has been paid it's every man for himself.
If im not home by a certain time, I can never find a close spot because these people have all of their friends parking in the closer spots. If you don't pay rent here, you should park further away as a courtesy to those that do.

I have made my apartment nice on the inside but it is embarrassing to bring friends and family over here because the outside is so nasty and trashy.
I didnt have that big of a problem with all of the things that went on out here until my car was broken into and someone was killed.

This place is unsafe.
