We moved into a 4bdrm flat in August. The rooms are all nice and spacious, plenty of storage space. We did a move-in inspection, the carpet was not cleaned as promised. They maintained that they did clean it but we walked around on it in our socks looking over the place and by the time we left they were filthy! There was no refrigerator in place, the dishwasher was old and clogged with hair and full of mildew. All that was inspection DAY. But we gave them the benefit of the doubt that things would be fixed. I went back that NIGHT to put a few things in the apartment...I turned on the lights and roaches are just scrambling everywhere. BIG ONES! It freaked me out. We bombed the place before we moved stuff in...you should have seen it. Now, after some diligent cleaning and self-pest control, it has become a livable place UNTIL the furnace broke. I went to the office to let them know in September (before it got cold) but maintenance never showed up. I went several more times, still no maintenance to be seen. Finally, after witholding November rent, they fixed the heat. We do receive notices about crime in the area, but I have never experienced any problems, security is present at night when I come home, and don't have any issues with my neighbors. With all that in mind, it is an ok place to live for now but we will not be renewing our lease.
