Feb 08 - I moved in. What A MISTAKE!!!
To start, management and maintenance is the most incompetent crew I have ever had to experience. The leasing Agents and Manager have no clue - except on Rent day! I noticed how they were all smiles and helpful on rent day --- then "nonchalant - I don't give a damn" attitudes come out after the 5th and last through the 31st. But you can best believe by the 1st the smiles are back!
Feb 08 - Two weeks after I moved in: I was served with a dispossessory notice. WTF!!!! I just gave them $1350 two weeks prior! Management's response: oooops, I'm sorry that was a mistake.
March- April 08: I was constantly getting notes stating that I owe for a utility bill. WTF''' MAMANGEMENT cannot keep their records in order -- they kept insisting that I did not change the utilities into my name... Duhh- CALL GEORGIA POWER to confirm -- and STOP harassing me about a bill paid months ago when I moved in.
Work-orders placed: The sink - IT STILL LEAKS!!!. The toilet - IT STILL LEAKS, the tub - THE MOLD IS STILL THERE!!
May 08 Three months after I moved in: I come home and my apartment has been broken into. They even took the food out of the cupboards and fridge- even the opened containers!!! I had a suitcase that I had not unpacked from a recent trip ---- THEY TOOK THAT!!!! The policeman stated that crime is really bad in this area and it will get worse through the summer months. hummmmm, interesting because I was told that crime was very low if any at all and no rapes or murders were ever committed on the property. (Of course when I brought this up to the new- oh yeah we have a new manager now -and she is worse than the previous one and as stupid as all outdoors too! she said they would never tell anyone that because they are not suppose to. Wrong answer!! Legally, if asked - you are to tell the TRUTH!!! I asked for another unit in writing due to the break-in and lack of safety felt...no response from the Dummies yet.
May 08 - After much headache and bitching, their mistake that has taken me almost four months to get cleared off of my record and WITHOUT the help of Management - the F'ing dumbheads who screwed it up in the first place! Finally the dispossessory was dismissed properly with the court. Still no response on another unit.
I refuse to live in fear or danger! If you move here this is what you will get!!!! This community is for low-lifes only! Don't move your children or yourself here- don't let the spacious floor plans fool you - it's not worth it!!! If you got suckered in - I suggest you do what I did - I moved out! Unfortunately I am still stuck with paying the rent throughout the lease so I use the apartment as storage space. Need storage - I got it!
July 08 I went to pay my storage fee for the month and to check on my storage unit. I could not get to my door because of wild dogs! A pack of them ---just hanging out with all the other low life s around the community. Two phone calls to management and a note on the back of my Rent check about the dogs . STILL THERE!!!! When animal control finally showed up the dogs were gone!!! But each and every afternoon they are back according to my neighbors.
Still no response about another unit ..
R U N L I K E H E L L - the community, management, maintenance is TERRIBLE!!! and Daniel Miles Properties should be ashamed - he is the worse slumlord I know of at this moment. You can best believe that Everyone that I encounter and come into contact with - I will tell them to RUN!!!!! That's the least I can do to help out the slumlord.

okie dokie, to start... you say low lifes live there. hmm. wonder why you moved in.... again i say we make our problems ourselves. no one made you sign the lease right?? and i know about the dogs. they are harmless. i see them around also, but what is the community supposed to do poison them?? Dekalb county will do nothing, ive called. the office has nothing to do with that. plus, the police is a dummy for saying its bad out here, cause i would ask then what the heck are YOU doing about it! we have to provide our own security, hopefully you will just turn in your keys and move out for good. The last thing a community needs is someone like YOU living there! Thanks, and im off home to my great apartment at HIGHLAND POINTE!!

Well, Queen - which low-life are you - the Blue , purple or gold---no let me guess - you are the skanky platinum blonde with the rotten teeth that is at the mailbox every evening..asking for spare change.... I can't even check my mailbox in peace! Did you hear about the attempted car theft and shooting two weeks ago - cars with bullet holes all over them? was one of them yours? Decatur_Gyrl - please RUN!!! do not move into Highland Estates or Pointe you will encounter the same as Highland Landing.

QueenBee is obviously one of the ones who belong. I live in another of Miles Properties communities. (Highland Landing on Flat Shoals Pkwy) I planned to move into Highland Estates/Pointe as an upgrade. I see it is not Highland Landing but Miles Properties. I have experienced the same Hell and High Water in my complex. Uncaring managers, crime, lack of security, drugs, bad ass kids (at all times of night), noise, trashy grounds, lack of maintenance, and just as many bad reviews. You are not alone. We have people who are extremely content with Highland Landing too. Usually blue,gold,and purple haired girls, drug dealing men, and the lower class population who hang out all times of night themselves.

I live in Highland Brooke (Fulton county) since May 08 from out of state. I saw the pictures and made the arrangements and did all I could with the price of rent and this is what I got. If I had more time I would not of lived here. All I wanted is my apartment fixed, I came across this site trying to get service to my apartment and complain again to Daniel Miles or Brad Brown. Still no response. If anyone has had success getting through to them please post it, the Miles property website and phone numbers does not work. I too have experienced the same disasters from management (Alisha Manager of Highland Brooke), lack of garbage pick up, the access of drugs, prositutes, hustlers, lack of disipline of children fighting and marijuana smoking by as little as 11 (when asked how old they were and if their parents knew they smoked), children knocking on peoples doors without knowing who they are as little as 5 years old, squaters in empty apartments and when the management team is assisted by Fulton County Police there are no arrest made, security force on the take from the community to look the other way. There is a couple of churches that attempt to minister but its not enough, the community as a whole need to change and complain more, most have to deaf ears though. Though I agree with MadatMiles in some things such as making accountable the management staff I disagree about the low lifes comments and the commenst made by Queenbee there is no real screening, I take that back, I was screened, but its about bonus' for them the management of how many units are filled . There are alot of hard working people and if the property is run correctly and not just a rent payment system by any means nessesary it would be a nice place to live. The maintenance staff are told not to fix anything. It is a shame that we live and accept this, I have been active along with others in the community to try and change these situations but WE have to do it as a whole. People pay their full rent and that is too much money given to Daniel Miles and nothing is fixed

daniel miles used to care 10 years ago when he started but now he is too busy too see what they have become they have expierenced forclosures left and right but daniel still drives his v 12 mercedes a black one i seen you on peachtree going into the new corporate headquarters terminus. its empty because you run a slumlord buisness i worked for miles properties for 2 years they dont care, its about the money right danny when you think of miles you think apartment fires and hell holes DONT MOVE TO A MILES PROPERTIES

I also worked for Miles properties. Daniel thinks he is a "man of the people"- well, he has forgotten to care for his people, truly! It is true, he owns a Bentley, a maybach and the jet wouldn't surprise me. He is making his life living off of fees he charges those who actually work hard for a living. BTW- Managers are hired based on looks not qualifications. If they are a decent looking black female Daniel is ALL OVER 'EM. Don't rent from Miles unless you have extra money to give away if "fees" on a monthly basis!
