Miles Properties / Highland Pointe are A BIG JOKE

These ppl are something else. My apt. was robbed two weeks before Thanksgiving. Detective found no signs of forced entry, and low & behold, Management wasn't able to tell me where their copy of my key was at the time (or thereafter) of the robbery. I asked for a transfer. All they cared about (including Daniel Miles himself) was when would I be able to pay rent. Didn't care that someone walked into my home and took my belongings, even the food out of my freezer. We went to court and the judge claimed I couldn't prove that anyone in management had anything to do with the robbery. The business manager sat in court and tried to place blame on my son ... what a joke! Gave me 7 days to move, which was fine with me. Now mind you, I couldn't pay the rent for November ... duh ... cause I'd been robbed. But before the end of the month, I'd deposited the full amount (including late & court fees), with the court. Judge issued a judgment, and the money I deposited was to be applied to the judgment, which left a little over $200 and that could have been deducted from the security deposit. So why, 5 months later, am I now getting phone calls from QRSI, a collection agency, telling me I owe Highland Pointe $2,500 for November & December's rent, and $500 in damages''' Now, I hear Mr. Miles has had to file bankruptcy, but they BETTER leave me alone, or bankruptcy will be the LEAST of their worries!!! I hope they all go to hell. You don't care about your tenants, and what goes around comes around. POINT BLANK!!! Anyone willing to tell me about their experience there, please contact me.

I actually use to work there back in 2008 and then they transfered me to Alabama. And it is true that he did file for bankruptcy cause the three properties that he had in Alabama all went under foreclosure they waited until the day before to tell everyone and they are currently being sued by wachovia for over 30 million dollars cause come to find out they were not paying the bills! They were collecting the rent but not paying the bills! I mean it was hell!! Vendors weren't getting paid the company quit allowing the maintenance to staff to order parts that were needed to complete work orders! I mean they were so trifling. And your right what goes around comes around cause they definatley are getting theirs now

These apartments suck!!I moved here in Feb.09. My rent suppose to have been 799. When I took them my rent check they said it was 849. Thick chick that wrote my lease told me that water was included in the 799. NOT! Then on top of that the apartment that they moved me in was not the one that I was suppose to move in. I had just moved from NC in really didn't have anywhere to go last minute. We did a walk through. Everything was wrong with this apartment. I was promised that it would get fixed and she wrote everything down. Never happen. Every other day I have to hound these people about fixing my ----. From mold to mildew. Then come to find out crackheads stayed in the apartment before me and messed it up big time. They threw this ---- together to get some money. They have cleaned my carpet on the sixth month like promised. I now have bugs. Every time they do something to the apartment upstairs or below me they come here cause its clean. They suppose to spray every Thursday. I have only seen them once. They say you have to call every week for them to put you on a list what the f**k! That should be mandatory. They finally fixed my ac but hell summer was damn near over with. Now I'm having issues with my heat. Every month my light bill is 300. I don't see how cause no one is rarely here. Two days ago my son's father open the sliding door to get my son's bike and the door damn near fell on him. The guy came down put some super glue on it and said that's all he could do. I called them the next day to see I if they were going to order me another door. They said they would be down here. No one never came. I called them today. They guy came down looked at the door and said the guy fixed. I told that idiot the door is still cricket and now condensation is coming in the door which means when I turn the heat on its going out the door. My dad this for years. They must think I am some dumb broad. I called to the office and asked to speak to the Supervisor. First the chick in the office said he was in office and to leave a message. When I told her I was coming up there she said he wasn't there. Caught the stupid broad in a lie. I told her either they replace this door or my rent check will be sitting her til they do. And I'm taking pictures calling the news and calling corporate office so they can see how poorly kept these apartments are. They said they are under new management. These bastards are no better then the old management. Can't wait til Feb10 cause my lease will be up. I don't recommend no one move here. They apartments ain't fit for a homeless person. Ms. Evans

Girl, they have no Corporate Office anymore. I sent a certified letter to them requesting my deposit be returned and the letter came back unclaimed. Their attorney's office accepted the letter, but I've not heard from them, so I'm wondering if they are still they lawyer ... Oh, the attorney is a bastard, too. Sat in court with the business manager and tried to make it look like "my son had it arranged for our apartment to get robbed." MY OWN SON. Not saying it's not happened like that before, but I don't have those type of kids ... And I just found out that in GA if a LL is asked to return a deposit and doesn't, that you can take them to court and sue, and the court can make them pay 3x the amount owed ... That is my next step, and I urge anyone reading these posts not to move in anything affiliated with Miles Properties.
