Maybe getting better, but for now I'm leaving...

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
This will be long, but I'm trying to get the good with the bad...
-Proximity to everything is nice
-Pool is pretty well kept
-Apartments are a nice size
-Rent went up $100 after the first year I lived here
-Fireplaces in every unit, balcony/patio and sunroom is nice
-Tennis courts are nice and well lit
-Rats by the dumpster, although I've never seen one close to my apartment.
-Roaches are everywhere... but mostly outside. I've lived here 2 years and I've seen probably a dozen inside my apartment... but I'm also on the walk-in level.
-The buildings are old and therefore probably need more work than is being put into them. I had a leak from the upstairs apartment into my bathroom twice in the same spot. The first time, they came that day which was a holiday. The second, it took 2 months for them to show up. Both times they just patched the leak upstairs and never replaced the rotten wood in the wall... so then came the termite infestation. They were coming out of my walls and onto my sink. Terminex did come the following Friday after I called and took care of the problem.
-Termite/water damage in my wall... still not sure what it was. I dealt with this issue for 8 months. Multiple attempts to have the maintenance come fix it and they finally came and just plastered over the damage. They said they would have it treated for termites, but I don't know if it ever happened because I never got any notification of it.
-About a year ago, my water heater busted and water was leaking into my hallway. They were there within an hour to fix it. They fixed the leak, but it took longer to get the carpet replaced.
-Finally, and the main reason I'm moving out: There have been armed robberies in the complex multiple times in the past 4 months. It took a while for the complex to even inform us that they were happening (It happened first to a woman in my building). They were all to women who were alone...anytime from 8-12PM. Even after it happened a few times, they sent out notices saying it was happening "in the area" and to take extra precaution... and only sent them to certain buildings. They did get a security guard who walked around the complex. After a few weeks he stopped coming and the robberies started again. We had a woman here for awhile in a car and they stopped while she was here but she seems to be gone again so I'm just waiting for it to start up again. As a single woman, I'm completely freaked out when I get home from work, which is usually late. I'm ready to move.
