I'd Live There Again...

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2008
I lived at Woodland Hills from July 2004 (rent:$770 plus water) - October 2008 (rent:$954 plus water) and I loved my apartment. It was spacious (1355 sq. ft). I lived on an upper level with a balcony that overlooked the wooded walking trail (which one reviewer says didn't exist). It was disturbing to hear from the other reviews that there had been armed robberies in the complex; especially since the notices management sent out seemed to discount the crimes as "car break-ins". However, I'm not surprised by any news of crime - this apartment complex IS in Metro-Atlanta; single women and everyone else should be alert at all times whether you live in an apartment or single-family home (just watch the news). That said, my apartment building was full of single women and children - and I felt relatively safe in my apartment. No one mentioned any break-ins in my area of the complex. Maintenance fixed any problems I had usually within 24 hours - I did have to argue once that I needed a new furnace...they replaced it. The apartments are older and there are bugs - mainly long-legged millipedes. Management will send an exterminator when you ask. Management was always courteous to me - the staff does change regularly though. My major complaints would be about the millipedes and the doggy poop on the endcaps and sometimes in the parking lot. I love pets but I hate people who don't clean up behind them - I felt management should have done more to keep my shoes clean. Maintenance did come quickly to clean up the mess under our stairs and on the endcaps when I called them. Overall, I had a good experience at Woodland Hills - I moved there for the convenient location and the school district and I only moved out because a mortgage payment in that school district was cheaper than paying rent (note the 24% increase in four years).
