When we moved into Cameron Brook we were unhappy with a very large red stain in the middle of our living room carpet. Management offered to change the carpet for us and informed us that we would have to move our furniture out of the living room for them to do so. I came home that day to find all of our belongings THROWN into the kitchen and bathrooms. Several of my things were broken, and management never reimbursed me for it. Not to mention that my front door was left unlocked for several hours between the time the maintence crew left, and my arriving home.
The trash disposal area is nasty, not well lit and unkept. Since pickup is once a week. on mondays you can expect that the trash will overflow into the street. Oh and did i mention that pizza hut won't deliver pizza to us' Pizza hut wont send any drivers to our complex becuase one of them was mugged and beaten over at Wood Terrace next door. So dont move in there either!
Maintenance is very undependable. We requested a new refridgerator several times becuase ours is very loud. We were told that they would not change it for us. Then they had roofers working on our roof for about a week from 6 am until 6 pm we had to listen to the roofers. They did a really poor job becuase now our roof has been leaking for a month and management has yet to do anything about it.
The walls are so poorly insulated that i can hear the couple who lives below me having loud sex. And the lady on the first floor who babysits kids during the day...i can hear her kids crying at times. It seems that there is a constant draft from the window in my bedroom. Funny our lease says these are "energy efficient" apartments'!'
When we signed our lease there was a security patrol on the property. Since the property changed hands to Fairfield management the security patrol disapeared as did all of the management that knew us. We have been promised several times that a new security patrol will be in effect once again. But i have yet to see this fictional patrol officer. We have called 911 several times for noise complaints. Management here has been unreliable and unresponsive to our requests. We wont be renewing our lease.

UPDATE: my building nearly burned to the ground becuase some kids were playing with fireworks unsupervised at night last may. Fortunately i had my senses about me unlike my neighbors and realized that the building was on fire. Maintenance here has improved and my calls for repairs have been answered in a timely manner. The office staff is constantly changing. Now they have people working there who don't speak english. They neglected to tell us on our move in that we must turn in a 60 day notice that we are moving out. So we are stuck here for an extra couple of weeks. They didn't send us a reminder letter or anything like other communities normally do. My car is scratched up from the kids in the neighborhood running around unsupervised in the parking lots and bumping thier bikes into cars or playing on the cars. The pool is just gross. It has a nice coating of hair grease floating on the top of it. Residents here park thier work equipment (tractors, trailers, pressure washers, you name it) in the parking spaces, leaving no parking for me and my roomate. Or they'll park across 3-4 spaces at a time with thier pickup trucks. The trash is still overflowing every monday. There's trash thrown all over the place. People put thier trash in the stairwells and it has attracted bugs and rodents. Ants have infested my apartment and no matter how many times the maintenance people have sprayed they continue to parade through my bedroom, living room and pantry. The residents in the building next to mine hang thier laundry to dry on the patio. How ghetto! Idiots around here don't know how to drive around the roundabout at the entrance and speed around it the wrong direction, even when there are children nearby. The kids who stand at the bus stop in the morning are about as classy as thier parents living in this complex and the one next to it (Wood Terrace). Be warned about the water company that bills you for your water here. They will try to take advantage of you by "guesstimating" your water bill. Did i mention that there are random gunshots fired around here' There is not a dekalb county police officer who pops in every once in awhile to check the place out. But as soon as he is gone drug deals are made in the parking lot. Music is blaring and people are running amuck again. I've seen it happen. This is not a place for single females.
