Forced to move over a technicality

High management turnover. There have been three sets of staff in the one year I lived there. They're hardly ever in the office. Most of the time you have to go to another property owned by the same rental company to talk to someone, except on the 1st, of course. I had a problem with my oven, it wasn't repaired for a month. The pest control is inconsistent. You can go three months without evidence of a spraying. There is no security whatsoever. On the other side though, this is a pretty quiet community, and I usually can get a decent parking spot. Landscaping is done on a regular basis. The rent is reasonable. Even with all this going on, I would've stayed for at least another year if not for this:
I moved in with a deal that priced my 2 bedroom as the same as a regular priced 1 bedroom. Exactly two months before my lease ran out I asked how much the rent would be for another year. Over the next month, I asked again three other times, and the answers varied from "I don't know," to "The same as it is now," to anywhere from $100 to $225 more than the original rent I signed the lease under. Like most leases, you have to notify the landlord of your intention to vacate a month before the lease runs out. It only makes sense not to stay somewhere if you don't know how much the rent is, and I never received a notice of the upcoming lease expiration. I believe that because I signed for such a great bargain on my apartment, the management intentionally failed to notify me of the terms of a renewal, just to get me to move so they can charge someone else more rent.
All they had to do was tell me, and I would've been satisfied with my renting experience with Parkwood Village, regardless of whether I moved or not.
