DO NOT EVER RENT HERE!!!

*EDIT: A few days after they finally fixed the AC and water heater the AC was messed up and started leaking all over the carpets instead of draining.
ALSO I tried to apply for IKEA credit and was turned down because they put my roommates name and my last name together on the lease (As in, Instead of ***sie Smith they put **mie Smith) so I am getting turned down for credit because it looks like I had a different name.
I've approached them about that before and they ASSURED me that it wasn't possible for me to get turned down for credit because of that. Funny - IKEA's website asks youa bout your credit history and a question was if that used to be my name. Hmmm.

ORIGINAL POST:
My roommate and I signed a year long lease here under the guise that our apartment would be at least DESCENT.
HAH! Upon moving in the freezer would not freeze, so they took a BLOW DRYER to it and melted some block of ice, causing a leak from the freezer down into the fridge. I had them come back again to fix it, they claimed they did, but they did NOT. I cannot put food on the bottom shelf or in the crisper drawer because water leaks into both of them. I have to keep a perfectly useful mixing bowl in there to catch the water if I don't want a leak.
Problem two: The dead bolt on the door keeps coming loose. As in, I have to screw it back on every few days.
Problem three: In the early part of this year the toilet started over flowing. I called them to fix it and they said a plumber would be there shortly - SEVEN HOURS LATER he showed up, damn near 8pm at night. The next week it started over flowing and water started coming up from the drain in the tub AGAIN. This time they fixed it, but because of their NEGLIGANCE to their utilities, had to replace an entire plumbing line because it had busted.
NOW - in the 24 hours I've had YET ANOTHER PROBLEM. I came home to my air conditioning NOT running and the water heater spewing out water. The AC is right above the water heater. It was soaked down. I turned the breakers to all these units off, called the emergency maintence line (It was around 11:20 PM when I did this) and heard nothing back. I called my father to find out how to turn off the water heater so it would quit spewing water. At 11:45 I called the emergency line again. Nothing. So finally, at 12:30AM I called and said not to bother coming tonight - I had to get to sleep because I had to go to work the next day.
NEXT DAY I call them on my break to see if things were being fixed... they said the maintence guys would be down there fixing it. I informed them that the AC was no longer working EITHER. The office assistant said she'd let them know.
About 10 minutes later they call me back saying that they CAN'T get into my apartment w/out me there because someone needs to put my dog somewhere that she wont bother them and that it can't wait because by the time I get home they'll have other issues in other apartments to deal with.
I work in Sandy Springs. Approximately 40 miles one way from Douglasville. It's towards Atlanta, so the drive is a minimum of 1 hour one way.
Driving back to work would be a waste of my money. SO I left work, since OBVIOUSLY I had no other options, and now have to somehow manage to make up the hours during the rest of the week.
I get home, put my dog away, the maintenece guy comes and fixes the water heater (well, we'll see when my roommate tries to take a shower tonight). I asked him if the AC was fixed too - he had not been told that it was broken (WHAT A SURPRISE!). I decided to stay in my room and take a nap w/my dog so she'd not scratch all the cheap ass latex paint off the door. 3 or 4 hours later his tools were gone. So was he. And of course, the AC isn't fixed.

The office manager likes to come up with excuses for EVERYTHING and tries to make you feel like an ------- for being upset at them... but how can you NOT be when every week it's SOMETHING else.

I never thought I'd say this, but I almost WISH they'd evict me.
