I rented a three bedroom apartment when I moved here in July 2005 with my fiance and two kids. I had to find a place in a hurry because I lived out of state and was here only one weekend. At first, the place looked like a decent place. We were re-assured by the management that it was a very quiet place and never any trouble.(YEAH, RIGHT!) Problems started immediately...Our place was very dirty when we moved in and complaints got us nowhere, street thugs loitered almost 24hrs a day outside of our door and would not move to let us by to get into our apartment sometimes. They would get drunk and yell and scream all of the time (complaints didn't help), our unit stayed INFESTED with ants, spiders and centipedes ALL of the time (complaints didn't help), management was rude and treated everyone like idiots, Maintenance took forever to make repairs, the dumpsters were infested with HUGE rats, and even though stayed through the full 12 months of my lease and ALWAYS paid my rent early, they actually took me to court and sued me for another month's rent, pet deposit and for repairs that the unit needed and existed before we rented it. (we documented everything when we moved in, but that form was conveinently lost, so was the form where we paid our pet deposit). The bottom line is that my family did not feel safe in this place and would go elsewhere when I would have to go out of town. I would not even allow my kids to go outside or play on the playground, much less the NASTY swimming pool. Please do not do this to your family!!!!!
