I would NEVER recommend this apartment to anyone!!!

The apartments are decent, although they aren't real picky about who they let in. We are positive our new neighbors were dealing drugs and everyone in the building had complained over and over again about them. They were finally evicted after about 4 months. There is NO parking and people park in the no parking zone and block other people into their legal parkings spots. When we complained about it, we had to wait an hour for the courtesy officer to show up.
The fire alarm in the building was broken and for two days it went off. It was deafening and we called the office number only to be told that the maintenance people live 45 minutes away and that we'd have to listen to it until they could get there. Maintenance is very slow with issues.
The gates are a nightmare. First of all, there really is no point as the gates have motion sensors so they don't close on anyone's car and therefore, they let any car through who passes closely behind another. The gates NEVER work. I've lived there for 14 months and the gates worked for about 2 weeks and then haven't worked since. One day, they decide to close the gate and when I called the office to let me in (since there was no one in front of me to tailgate), I was informed I'd need to pay $10 for a new card. I did so and 3 days later the gates didn't work again. What a waste!!!
The management staff is virtually no help with anything! As someone said before, they lure you in with what appear to be great discounts but they are very deceiving. They accept rent until the opening of business on the 4th. I was out of town and called on the 2nd and 3rd and got nothing but an answering machine. I wanted to pay my rent by credit card. I called on the 4th (a monday), two hours after they opened the office and was told that I'd have to pay not only a late fee (10% of "fair market value") but also the difference between "fair market value" and the amount agreed upon in my lease. The total was a difference of $276, all because my rent did not get to them 2 hours earlier! I've never been late on my rent and this is not good business to me. Once they get you in a lease, they know the can charge you what ever they want to and that you have to pay it! To make matters worse, whenever there is a problem, the property manager refuses to speak to residents. She'll have the staff tell you she desn't want to deal with the issue. They also submeter the water. What they don't bother to tell you is that if you make a mistake and pay even one day past the due date, there is a $22.00 late fee, regardless of the amout of your bill. No utility company could ever get away with charging such an outrageous late fee but because the water is submetered and Autumn Village uses a billing company, they can charge you whatever they want.
The apartments always have ants no matter how clean you keep them. Everyone complains about it but nothing is ever done.
In short, these may seem like a great deal at first, but they are honestly a rip off. They are the worst apartment community I've ever dealt with!
