I had to move quickly due to crime at my previous apartment complex and I got very lucky with Avonlea. I was looking at this and other apartment complexes all around the area. I really liked that I was able to afford a two bedroom, two bath apartment by myself and I love the floorplan. I recommend the smaller of the two bedroom floorplans; it is well laid out and definitely enough space for even two people! The maintenance staff, while they didn't get everything right the first time, was quick to return and fix things. The leasing personnel went out of their way to get me into the complex. They even called someone who had just leased the apartment I wanted and got him to switch to another apartment! The area is quiet and I liked my view of the woods. The utility prices are not out of the ordinary but you will be required to go with their utility company (water, sewer, electricity come on one bill). There is currently a $10 a month service charge for the managing utility company but its actually better than my last place as I had natural gas (with a $16 a month base charge just for that) and less insulation. The apartment is located close to a movie theatre, two grocery stores, and a Target and Home Depot are across the street. A Whole Foods is also being built literally within a stone's throw. The only downside about the location is it lacks things for young professionals to do. This area is very suburban, and nice for its atmosphere.
