not worth a cent!

I don't normally write these, but out of curiosity looked at the Aylesbury reviews while looking for my next place, and felt a sense of duty to fellow renters. Unfortunately alot of the negatives noted in the reviews are true. I wished I'd read them before I agreed to live there. After living at Aylesbury for 2.5 years, you would think that the staff would be a bit friendly towards you and more appreciative of you especially if the rent was being paid months in advance, the apt was kept clean and noise to a minimum! Hassle free ideal tenants - right! You would think they would not want to loose your business/referrals! It's all very glossy, right down to the management staff. All pretty with no substance! Although the staff were made aware of defects to the property upon move in- they conveniently forget a few so that they can get you at move out. But they think they are doing you a favor if they say on one of them they are not going to charge you - don't be fooled, they've accounted for it already on the charges they make on all the other stuff! yes truly thats how high the bill is to move out! If you need maintenance to come out, you have to ask the office several times, and really its only when you've had enough and you end up going into the office they write it up on one of their yellow work order slips, because without one of them the maintenance staff don't do anything! They will tell you they are family friendly when you initially visit - but you can't keep your child's bike out on the patio????! they understand family living so understand normal wear and tear on a carpet including stains, and the drip pans in the kitchen are going to change color - sure they understand they'll just bill you in the end for cleaning it or to replace! we had a couple of stains, which were no different to the stains that came out in a normal steam clean on renewal of our lease - so then why were we charged for stain removal - when the steam guy had told me the carpet was on its way out anyhow! Before the move out inspection - I had clearly just cleaned the apartment from top to bottom and the manager still wanted to charge me for cleaning because I had forgotten one of the tiny draws in the master bathroom! The cheek! In a nutshell sure the amenities and the place is all very pretty, and to some degree you'll compromise and be able to live with the staff issues and defects on a daily basis. To list a few so you get the idea: the constant garbage disposal blockages, the air conditioning not working, the cheap paint used on walls just comes off onto your clothes if you happen to brush against it, the paint on the wall cracking because maintenance don't know how to fill wall holes from previous tenants and the mismatching kitchen/bathroom cabinet doors, oh and the one that takes the biscuit - the pet policy only applies to tenants - no joke where our apt was located, it was a popular dog walking route, and the staff do not clean up after their own dogs, many tenants don't but for the staff not to be doing so is another story isn't it?? Also, the traffic on the 120 and 141 is a nightmare and Aylesbury is located at the heart of it - my husbands office was 6 miles away on the 141 - it could take him an hour and half or more most days to get there and the same on the way back! Also, the wireless internet is non existent - the antennae is just there for show and to lure the crowds in and the washer/dryers in units shrink your clothes, and leave a nasty smell. You get to live with it because hey you get two pools and a massive gym and the penalty for canceling your lease is very high. You'll be wondering why we bothered to stay - we came here because of my husbands work and were only meant to be there maximum two years and a third of that time was spent traveling, so it took us longer to experience some of the problems and so that versus the cost/hassle of moving etc for us meant we just stayed put, also there is a FANTASTIC pre-school (The Goddard School in Norcross) nearby which I didn't want to take my son out of. But really in the end you'll end up paying for it anyhow - value for money it is not! Totally not what they say it is and the hassles you have to go through really are not worth a cent in the end! There are many apartment complexes better located, similar/better amenities and more importantly with better customer service in the area. Check them out first. Aylesbury is not an experience I would wish on my worst enemy!

I am a new resident here and so far no problems. There were a couple of things that needed to be fixed when I moved in and they were done in a timely fashion, including a brand new washer and dryer. As for the shrinking of clothes learn how to work your dryer for crying out loud. As for your husbands commute, well the traffic all over Atlanta sucks live with it, that's why I moved to these apts. in the fisrt place. I am 5.5 miles away from work and it's a 15 minute commute tops, usually only 11-12. And I am going in and getting off during both rush hours. I have lived in several apt. complexes and realize there is some B.S. you basically have to live with. Better luck in your next complex none of them are perfect by any means.

Anonymous,
You probably work there that's the only reason you are commenting. YOU ARE A NEW RESIDENT, you obviously need to wait and see for yourself. I just went to this apartment complex yesterday and I was about to sign papers and I wanted to see reviews first, thank god i did- this lady helped me...
but you, you are just rude!
