Rude Staff_ Unreasonable Rules and Regulations

We have lived in Aylesbury Farms for a number of yrs. The apts are quite large with lots of character. We chose them because the 2nd bdrm is large with a large walk-in closet (Scarborough floorplan). From the start, the staff has been a nightmare to deal with. Within the past month they sent a letter to our bldg stating it has come to their attention that tenants with pets have not picked up after their pets and have allowed them walk with no leashes. They have threatened to charge an additional $100 per mo. to those who are listed as having pets and individuals they believe have pets unless we give up the names of those that are not picking up after their pets. I have never owned a pet but this letter made me furious. Is this even legal' Now that we are finally moving out after several yrs they provided us with a so called "Goodbye" letter. This letter consists of a large number of items that must be cleaned or they will charge you for it. For example, they will charge $5.00 for each set of blinds that are not cleaned. They automatically deduct $75 to have the carpets cleaned. They expect you to shine the tile in the bathroom with carwax. This seemed excessive so I called the office for an explanation. They further explained that I should paint the apt and make sure we caulk around the tub and grout the tile bathrooms. Keep in mind they have not inspected our apt. It seems like they expect you to setup the apt for the next tenant and they are not taking normal wear and tear into account at all. I also heard them being very rude to a former tenant about this very thing when I turned in our notice to vacate. RENTERS BEWARE!!! I am at the point of seeking legal counsel and do not recommend that anyone move to this apt complex as much as I love the floorplan, amenities, and grounds.
