I am considering moving here due to a divorce situation. I get to move from my 'luxury apartment in the sky' to 'someplace else'. Seems that all the BAD remarks are made by a few people and all the good remarks... well.. another few people. So, in the interest of clarity, would someone like to give specific unrefutable examples of the issues' e.g. Look behind trashcan #1 for XXX. or Watch for drug dealer in front of apt# XX. I have already been to the Duluth police department asking for the crime reports in the area and I do not see anything here that is not like any other part of the city. If I was to inspect the property, what time/day should I do that' Can you give me specific things I should ask the staff' Any examples of repair problems that should be obvious if I looked' e.g. the half busted door at apt# XX.

Some of the concerns posted here are valid. The exterior lighting is sparse at best, and some of the residents can be inconsiderate with how they drive or park their vehicles. I've been here almost a year myself. It's a decent price and a good size floorplan. I personally don't feel unsafe when I come home at night. A lot of people seem to expect high end amenities at a low end price. It would be nice, but its not realistic. I looked at a LOT of apartments before choosing Berkley. They do get a LOT worse than this. Hope that helps! Also... as for specifics... I can only think of a few. 1. The entrance/exit is steep and can be a bit crazy on weekday mornings. It sits right on Peachtree Ind. Blvd, so it can take awhile to get out of there. If you get stuck behind the school bus, good luck. 2. ANY furniture you bring to the dumpster is fair game once you drive off. If you accidentally chuck anything, you have about 2 minutes tops before it disappears. :) 3. Choose a unit towards the back of the complex. Its quiet and you'll have a view of the woods (as opposed to the parking lot) from your balcony.
