Advice to future and current residents...

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
I had lived with my mom right next door to Bridgewater for 5 years in a once nicer neighborhood called Oaknoll. Finally, I decided to move out on my own, and I chose a pretty bad place the first time around. I lived there for a year, and then started to look for another apartment. I remembered how Bridgewater always seemed to be safe and quiet, and on top of that confident knowledge rested the proven fact that it really was safe and quiet because I had a friend who had lived there over a year, and she was always pleased.
So, I got an apartment with Bridgewater. At first glance, it's almost too good to be true. Though a little bit expensive, Bridgewater makes you feel like you get your money's worth when you see their spacious apartments, two swimming pools, the fitness center, the laundry center, the volleyball court, the walking trails and fully-equipped picnic areas, the two live-in security officers, and the nice landscape. It has you fooled.
I have only lived here one month, to the date, and I have had to complain about missing necessities from my apartment, filthy swimming pools, poor customer service from the leasing staff, and most recently... my friend's car being stolen from right in front of her apartment a week ago, and today my other friend's car being broken into. I feel horrible living here because I can't even enjoy having a friends' company because of fear of putting them in harm's way. It is ridiculous that I live right next door [literally] to one of the security officers, and I've never seen him leave his apartment, his car is always there, and yet a whirlwind of trouble seems to be happening right around me where I should be most safe.
I recommend future residents only coming here as a last resort, and I recommend current residents staying alert. Don't leave anything valuable in your car, if you have a portable/removable cd player in your car...TAKE IT OUT. Don't leave cd's, ipods, wallets and/or purses, backpacks, laptops, jewelry, cameras, musical equipment, etcetera, in your car! TAKE IT OUT! Even if it's not worth a lot of money, take it out because you don't want to provoke them to the slightest degree to break into your car. Get alarm systems, smart ones, more advanced ones. Pay attention to your neighbors and make sure they look familiar to you.
