I am currently nearing the end of our lease here at Summer Ridge, and have decided NOT to renew. Here are some of the reasons why:

Biggest complaint, SAFETY. Even though this is a gated complex, the gates stand open, useless for weeks on end, either from malfunction, or from being rammed open, then not repaired for weeks. In the time I have lived here, a mere ten months, my own apartment has been broken into and I was robbed, other units here have also been robbed, and to my knowledge, at least three cars have been stolen.

We have security locks on our doors, but this stops no one from entering through the garage, as happened to me today. It was told to me verbally in the leasing office that the maintenance staff are not allowed to enter the unit without permission or prior notification, hence our security locks. I was awakened today to find two maintenence people standing in my hallway outside my bedroom door. They had let themselves in through the garage. I was in my bed asleep, lept up and drew a firearm on them both. They were dammed lucky they weren't shot.

This I consider a gross violation of my privacy and my verbal assurances from the leasing office.

Add to this the long list of maintenance issues that in ten months have STILL not been resolved, mainly damages left from the previous tennants (gouged out and burnt countertops in kitchen, missing towel racks in bathroom, multiple hooks left in the ceiling, broken light fixture).

In adition to this is the noise levels from the upstairs units, and after numerous requests for the courtesy officer, he never showed up.

I will definitely NOT reccomend this place to anyone for any reason.
