My mom has lived in Colonial Grand since it was Summer Ridge apartments (5 years ago). When it was summer ridge, it was actually decent. Then they started letting anyone move in and got a new management team every other week. I can almost guarantee you that over half the people who live in this complex are illegal immigrants. They don't even do a good backround check! There is constant noise of doors slamming, radio's thumping in cars! The landscaping is horrible. The trash builds up and stays that way for a week! The lights are always out in the walkways... REAL SAFE, HUH' My mom's apartment got broken into last Wednesday, and I went up to the apartment complex and raised hell and told them that this neighborhood is ghetto, and I want my mom out as soon as possible. We broke her lease, but the management at the office did not even come to my mom's apartment or call her to apologize for the break in. The gates are ALWAYS broken!!!! If I can't get a hold of my mom to let me in, I have no problems following behind someone. It's just an open invitation for anyone to rob. Thankfully, my mom is moving out this weekend, far away from Duluth, GA. I would not recommend this neighborhood to my worst enemy. The neighborhood and the management team are so trashy. Think twice before you waste your time and money. (is it worth a cheaper rent to take the chance in getting robbed')
