First off, I still live here (with my wife) so I'm posting anonymously. Generally I feel the same, that if there's a decent review, and it's anonymous, it was probably the management. I've lived in several apartment complexes over the years, but this is the first that I've paid for on my own (ie. not living with family). I know there's worse, and I know there's better, but this is pretty much an average place. It's an apartment, and you just have to remember that. You do hear your neighbors, and you have to put up with other tenants that have no concern for those around them. The management doesn't do much better to help with anything. Generally complaints go unanswered, as do maintenance requests. The management (aside from 1 or 2 people) has changed at least 4x in 2 years.

Here's some other facts:
1) Yes, there's been a murder in the complex. It was a domestic dispute gone wrong, and was not exactly a reflection of the community. The management certainly didn't say anything, just left it for the residents to spread by word of mouth if they didn't see the evening news first.
2) Parents let their kids play in the streets unsupervised. I've almost run down a kid a day during the summer months, regardless of how careful I am. Parents are no different, and walk in the middle of the roads instead of using the sidewalks. It's mostly the Asian and Indian majority here that do it'that's not a racist comment, that's just the area.
3) I've requested maintenance to check our AC no less than 5 times for a strange noise, but they refuse to give an answer or even come by when we're home (so we could accurately find the problem).
4) I pay my rent every month, usually early. And 1 time, I still had a notice in my door stating I would be evicted for not paying'turns out the computer program that prints out these notices made a goof, and nobody bothered to check'even though the manager said she recognized my name and thought it odd since I always paid on time. This just shows how much effort they put into making sure things move smoothly and correctly.
5) Management lied about several things to get us to move in. Mainly, they lied about the pool and amenities being shared with the town homes next door. During the summer there's at least someone having a pool party, and I pity the residents in the nearby buildings that have to put up with the noise.
6) There was supposed to be a gate between the communities as well, but there isn't (supposedly the fire marshal claimed it to be a hazard). This basically trashed the idea of this being a 'gated community'. To remedy this, they have had a sign up stating a remote-controlled gate would be put up 'this week'. It's been 3 weeks and counting.
