Could be nice if run more efficiently

Unfortunately, I have experienced some of the negative events described in other reviews here. However, I'll start with the positives. I like the way my apartment looks on the inside. I'm happy with the amount of storage space. I rarely hear music/TV through the walls. I have felt relatively safe here, although that's starting to change.
The negative aspects of living at Paces Commons far outweigh the positives. I try not to base my opinion on the office staff when choosing an apartment because I'm the type of person who basically only communicates with them when I move in and when I move out. However, since the apartments have pretty many maintenance issues due to new construction, and since the office staff doesn't enforce the rules in the lease, you may find yourself having to communicate with them, which can be challenging. I've had the same experience others have described here, where they close the office early or lock the office for long periods of time during business hours (far more frequently than any other place I've lived). When you leave messages for them while they're out, they often don't get back to you.
This could be a nice property, but since the rules aren't enforced, there are many tenants who use their balconies as storage units, who leave trash out in the hallways regularly, don't clean up after their pets, etc. I've had several frightening encounters with dogs that weren't on leashes, etc. The office staff leaves this up to the other tenants to address. It would be so much nicer if they took on the responsibility of checking to make sure tenants are following the rules of the community. That way the property would look nicer, and it would keep good tenants out of the uncomfortable position of having to confront neighbors and/or report things. If you are an upstairs tenant, be prepared to hear from your downstairs neighbor. Although the walls seem pretty soundproof, the floors/ceilings and breezeways resonate noise and vibration VERY loudly (again, more so than most apartments).
The list goes on and on. I'm not trying to trash the office staff here. All people and places have their pros and cons, but I've never seen a group of people drop the ball so much. I could literally list dozens of examples of them making significant goofs. Suffice it to say, I do not recommend Paces Commons unless someone does a better job training the office staff about how to run things more efficiently.
