My perception may be skewed since the apartments I lived in before moving there were total crapholes. So this was much newer and much nicer than anything we'd lived in before. We were there May '06 to Feb '07. The kitchen is definitely the big attraction. Granite-looking formica countertops, really pretty cabinets and black appliances. We had a big old bathroom. The bedrooms were okay in size -- not huge but not crazy small. Noise wasn't typically a problem until a guy moved in downstairs with surround sound speakers. He got kind of loud. I could also hear people walking in the staircases all the time. But I had no problems with crazy loud music or screaming neighbors or anything like that. I'm pretty sure we got all of our deposit back, except for the cost of some treatment they do after people with pets move out, which I was okay with. Management was fine, not great but didn't totally suck.
I was most concerned with safety. Kids from the n'hood behind the complex would jump the fence and come in. On multiple occasions I saw police driving through the complex obviously searching for somebody with flashlights. And frankly, I saw police answering calls in this complex more often than anywhere else I've lived -- and I have lived in the ghetto! Plus, in 2005 a man who lived there was busted as part of some huge Atlanta drug ring. And supposedly they don't allow felons to live there.
So the place was pretty, not too noisy, I'm just not sure about its safety.

I lived there in 2004 and discovered (after using a very easy online search tool) that there were two felons living there at the time. One of them, who had a felony for forgery, lived in my building. (Not sure if people who forge like to steal the regular way, but I had a package stolen from my doorstep.) Another one had an aggravated assault charge. The staff was really, really bad when I lived there, but right before I left a new manager started and she seemed very efficient.

Both of you like living at Paces Commons as it offered easy access to the bus lines and your favorite high-end furniture store, WalMart.
The way I see it, you two IDIOTS were lucky Mgmt turned a "blind-eye" and allowed your sorry butts to live in "luxury."
