This is government housing, so you have to expect that there are going to be problems. Rent is really cheap, so as expected, the problems are numerous. Many of the tenants that live here are the source of all the problems. You have little thug kids running around, and complain all you want to their thug parents, it won't do you any good. I've seen drugs, and heard them firing guns in the woods.

The trash is horrible. You always find it stacked in front of the compactor for no reason. There have been countless times that I have had to climb the mountain of trash just to put mine in the compactor.

The gate is pointless. Everyone tailgates into the community. Most enter through the exit gate even if it nearly causes an accident with a person trying to exit the community. I think this is because more than half of the people entering the community don't 'really' live there. I will get into this next paragraph. Management has made attempts to fix the gate problem by posting a guard and decreasing the time it takes for the gate to close, but these people are thugs.

Parking is horrible. Horrible. The management issued stickers to put on your car for parking. They said that if you were parked at night without a sticker, that your car would be towed. Well, I come home from the gym (not the nasty one at the apartments, but one that is crime free), and more than half the cars are parked without stickers. Sure, some are friends visiting, but a lot of these cars are parked here everyday. Some of these apartments are packed 2 or 3 families per home. It's either illegal aliens, or people that are really poor, and it's a shame they can't get their own place, but I sure would like to park near my house sometimes. I live in Apartment L, and sometimes I have to park down the block because of lack of spaces. As I said before, stickers were issued with a threat of towing cars without them, but there has been no change. Don't make a threat if you can't back it.

Finally, noise is really bad here too. The kids are out late at night partying and driving by with thumping cars. The walls are thin, and unfortunately my neighbor likes to listen to loud music too.

I don't blame everything on the office. They are over their heads doing a crappy job. I've seen attempts by them to fix problems, but the problems are too big. Some things like apartment maintenance requests or killing ants and other pests go pretty long without being answered. That is something the management should work on. As for the crime and the type of the people in the community, I think the problems are too far over the management's head for them to ever get this community to be nice again.

thank you so much for putting in words what my anger kept me mouth from saying politely. i have complained so much i started to get the impression that i was the only one who realizes the problems glad to see an intelligent person does reside in this complex. i really hope the best for the people who move here in the future maybe with time things will change, but it is so hard to teach an old rotten dog a new trick.

everything you said are completely true. i just moved in these apartment 3 months ago and im miserable. even my chihuahua is scared to go outside because there are so many dangerous looking people. i cant wait to move out i requested a work order 3 months ago and still..nothing. i woke up one morning, went to the car and there was the biggest dent in my car. im assuming its from those kids playing ball outside.

Well maybe if the parents got off their lazy bums and took their kids to a ballfield or park instead of throwing them outside cause they don't want to put up with them, this wouldn't happen. What do you expect kids to do?

Well, I bought a house last month, and I have to say that I feel like I've escaped hell. Granted, living in your own house is a wonderful thing, but to have escaped from Palisades Club is ecstasy. Good luck to any of you hoping to move on from Palisades Club. The biggest problem with section 8 housing is that a lot of people who live there don't have any initiative. They don't care that they live in crappy housing and have no motivation to move up in the world. So those of you like me who live with the hope to save some money then get out, are stuck living with the trash of society. Good luck to any of you hoping to move on. Update: Unbelievable. I thought I was done with Palisades Club, but now I'm having issues getting my deposit back. They returned my deposit for my apartment (minus $15 to clean my tub, which is bull because everything in my apartment was very clean), but they left off the $10 deposit for returning the weightroom key. I called, expecting to have it resolved very easily, when they transfered me over to Angela. Now, I have dealt with Angela before, and she is the worst - the spawn of -----. To make a long story short, she started asking me a ton of questions concerning my $10. "How long ago?" "Did you pay in cash or a check?" "Well, I don't see any proof that you actually gave us $10" All in an attempt to cheat me out of my $10. So I went off on her. I tried to keep my cool, but it was tough. I couldn't believe that she was giving me such a hard time over $10. Yeah, it might not be much, but it's my $10. I don't make enough for you to be stealing my money from me, even if it is only $10. In the end, she relented and agreed to give me my money, but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth that I had to go through that to collect on money that was owed to me. Good riddance to Palisades Club. I have updated my rating of the staff to reflect how I now feel. Palisades Club should thank Angela for that.

I have to say I visited this place and was about to rent but then I saw things that really are dtrue such as the swimming pool looking like an old nasty pond, that makes me wonder when every place I visited, none of their pools look like this. There was piles of trash at the compactor, and bits and pieces of trash on the yards. The lady in the office who helped me was so nice and informative and even though she never showed it, I could tell she was embarrassed as she walked me to the model apt. which was very nice and it would be perfect size for me, but I can't overlook what I saw. I am leaving where I live now because of bad maintenance and don't care to deal with that again.
