Moronic management

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005
Digging through my old e-mail, I found an exchange with the Prescott that I had a few years ago when I was considering living there.
I was arguing with the manager about pro-rating specials because the Prescott only offered a free month and refused to pro-rate. She moronically insisted that at the end of a lease, even if your special is prorated, your increase will be off market and not the prorated amount. This is assinine. I moved to Buckhead instead and have been in the same place for several years, and my rent incrases 1 or 2% every year based on the prorated special I got it under years ago, NOT market. Never take a free month upfront, because then you start paying market after that and they'll increase on top of that.
I just think it's funny that the imbeciles at the Prescott tried to convince me that money upfront is better long term than prorated money off. To make matters worse, the manager knew that I was pursuing a masters degree in finance at the time and still tried to pull this over on me. So you can add that to the list of reasons not to live at the Prescott, you know, as if you needed any reasons beyond not wanting to live directly behind and old abandoned Wal-Mart in a decaying neighborhood.
