I am afraid for my life here!!

I am not usually one to complain because I know all places have problems but this place should be bulldozed or burned to the ground. We had no idea what we were getting into. I moved in with my husband in April and I am ready to break my lease, we are leaving ASAP. There was a great guy in the office but he left. Also we are cool with the maintence and that is the only reason we get some of our stuff fixed (they don't fix it, they just bring us the stuff so we can fix it) If you need them to fix something...forget it. Our air conditioning has been broken since we moved in. Most of the people here are illegal. This is not a problem unless you live below an apartmenmt that housed random people who don't speak english. We lived below a 1 bedroom apartment that had 9 (yes 9) random mexican guys (always different) living there at any given time. There was always someone playing soccer or some other loud crap at all times of day and night coming from up there. One weekend they played this horrible mexican polka for two days straight all they way up (I think they were killing someone becayse that Monday the apartment was vacant). It didn't matter if you banged on the door, they never answered it and when they did, that didnt matter because they didn't speak english and closed the door in your face. There have been at least 3 shooting since I have been here. One right outside my door. I hear sirens nightly. 4th of July, I thought I was in a war zone and spent the night on the bathroom floor waiting for the gunfire to cease. A guy almost got shot in the head when a bullet flew though his apartment wall, he got out of his lease. My husband's car was broken into along with many others. The apartments knew who it was and let them stay. My husband was at the office when the police came out and the police told the manager (right in front of my husband) that they must not care about the residents because they (police) had been called out there about those women 5 or more times already and the apartments would not kick them out. In fact these ------- got to stay in a model apartment while there air conditioning was fixed. I am not sure but it almost seemed as though the management was in on it. Why else would they treat these people so well and everyone else so bad. The police now voluntarily ride through several times a day becuase the crime is so bad here. I actually had to jump in the bushes to avoid being seen and shot at by some people robbing a drug dealer, I have enver been so scared in my life, I almost peed myself. My husband witnessed two drug raids and the apartment building at the back houses a whorehouse. Also there are random junkies walking around and I have seen them make deals in the parking lots. The roaches are the worst I have ever experienced and I have lived in the ghetto. If you complain to the office they will "put you on the list" for the bug guy but then he won't show. When you track him down and ask why he skipped you he will tell you you are not on the list. Also the water company is a joke. We moved from a 4 bedroom house to a 1 bedroom apartment in the same county. My old water bill was $40 a month. The first month we were here our water bill was $115.00. You are charged based on the hot water usage. There are washer and dryers in every building. You have to pay to use them ($1.25 each) and you are also charged for the hot water they use. The problem is we have the only working washer and dryer on our side of the complex so everyone comes to use our washer and dryer and we get charged for it. We have asked repeatedly for them to put a lock on it and they won't. We have never used them because everyone else already is. And we get to pay for it. The first month we were able to get them to reduce the bill but after that we had to pay. I am actually scared for my life living here. We went and bought a gun because its so bad. Now we have met some cool people and I really like the maintence guys they are super cool. But the cheap rent and possibility of making friends with someone is not worth the absolute threat to your life this place poses. Also I heard they are trying to raise the rent now. If you are a drug dealer, prostitute, pimp, junkie, or some other low quality person you'll love it. Also if you are illegal your love it because it will feel like home. If you are looking for someplace to have a family or just a nice safe queit place run far far away because this is not it.
