It's true the water went out (less than 24 hours), but it wasn't the complex's fault. A water main broke. I saw the area where the men were working on it until 2am in very cold weather. They got it working as soon as they could. It was an inconvenience, but not preventable by the complex, although the complex should have put signs up to tell us as we arrived home from work. Anyway, the grounds are well maintained and the ground keepers are walking around picking up bits of papers or cigarette butts so they always have an eye out during the day. The gates are not really for security, more just a deterent, because anyone could get in by following a car in, but they have cameras on all entrances. It is very quiet in my building and parking is good. The office staff are always friendly. They fix things quickly. Frankly, I have enjoyed it here. I live in one of the buildings on a cul-de-sac. Oh, there is one thing you should know, the vents for the duct work in my apartment did not meet code. I had them cleaned professionally (at my expense - It matters to me) and they had to tape up the space between the ducts and the vents. There were 1-2" gaps on most of the vents. It cost me about $5 per vent and it wasn't reimbursed. Check your vents by taking off a cover and seeing if there is a gap. If there is a gap it will cause insulation to blow into your apartment (not a healthy thing). I understand that this is a common code violation for apartments, but it bothered me enough to fix it. You could fix it yourself with that foil tape they sell at home depot too.

I am moving on December to this complex, and the apartment will be on a cul-de-sac. Is it a good or bad thing?
